Poured to a nice full head with medium retention and not much lacing. Had a nice amber color, clear with a mild aroma. Some hins of malt and caramel in the smell. Had a nice flavor with notes of caramel and toasted nuts. Nice medium to full mouthfeel with a cool lasting aftertaste.

Pours a crystal clear toasted straw color with some amber highlights. The white head is soapy and small but leaves some lacing on the glass.

The aroma is grainy and has loads of metallic notes. Some light sulfur. It basically has the same aroma as a macro lager.

The taste has a caramel/toffee sweetness. A bit too aggressive as it tastes artifical. Light metallic notes and a subtle grain. The malt is slightly bready but not much. A hint of toast.

The feel is light to moderate with fizzy carbonation. Sweet on the palate but the finish is bone dry, almost astringent. A hazy bitterness in the finish as well.

Seems to be a beefed up macro lager. I'd be happy if the macro lagers did taste like this though as the grainy, DMS doesn't come through. It is still a rather weak showing for the style.

I found this to be a very ample and tasty Octoberfest. Malty, aromatic, flavorful, with a very nice marzen type body. Hops are low but crispness is high, and overall drinkability is nice. I could certainly drink plenty of these at a nice fall festival, or on a saturday afternoon. Good job Spoetzl.

Served from a 12 ounce longneck into a shaker pint. A moderate pour produces about a half inch of head which sticks around, coating the sides of the glass. The beer is an orange-brown with medium carbonation.

Light malt on the nose with maybe just a whiff of hop aroma. A biscuity taste is present, with some subtle fruitiness, with just a touch of lingering bitterness. Nice burpiness and crispness, and quite smooth. A very easy drinking beer.

This is the best Oktoberfest beer that I've tried recently. You can't get this beer where I live, but you can get it here, in Sheridan, Wyoming. This town has an excellent local brewery and an awesome selection, particularly at Star Liquor. Quite a welcome change from most Wyoming towns, where you can get all THREE brands of beer- Bud, Coors and Miller.
