This is the same beer as Shiner Spezial Leicht.

The beer pours a clear yellow color with a white head. The aroma is heavy on the grain with nothing else going on. The flavor is more of the same. I get a lot of grain and some grassy notes. This beer tastes almost exactly like Miller Lite, which I assume is what the brewers were going for., Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.

Appearance: Pale yellow with a very thin white head.

Smell: Sweeter corn and grassy notes.

Mouthfeel/Taste: Smooth light bodied. Taste was bland, corn and grassy like notes.

Overall: Not very good honestly. Oh well, had to try it.

Purchased a 12 -pack of this to share with a friend while out at the lake. The word 'light' had me not expecting much ...

A- Bright lemony yellow with high carbonation and a large white head when pured into pint glass.

S- One note: Light sweet malt scent.

T- Malt, very light. Slight hop bitterness and a slightly skunky aftertaste.

M- Light-bodied, smooth.

O- Meh ... Certainly a step down from other Shiner brews. I guess it's probably a step up from the so-called yellow fizzy beers and at least your money goes to a smaller brewery than InBev or Miller-Coors ... Am I grasping at straws?

Pours out to a thin white sudsy head that lasts but does not lace. Very pale yellow and lots of carbonation bubbles. Aroma is very light and grainy and slightly grassy. Flavor is very light and thin. Not much going on. Reminds me of another all malt low-cal/low-carb beer that is no longer brewed. For what it is it is OK.

Shiner Light Blonde has a medium, stark-white head, a clear, light-straw color, with lots of streaming bubbles and almost no lacing. The aroma is of musty, sweet & sour grain, with a little spice noticed in the sniff. The flavor is of sweet, musty grain, paper, sourness, and grass. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Shiner Light Blonde finishes dry and crisp. Overall, this is a substandard beer, even in the light class. Not much here.

Poured into a shaker pint glass.

Look: Very light straw color, almost transparent. Rising bubbles, but no real head or lacing.

Aroma: Sweet cereal grains, malts.

Taste: Sweet grains or malts, very vague tang in the finish.

Mouthfeel: Light, thin, carbonated.

Overall: One of the most watery, boring, flavorless "craft" beers I've ever had.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pilsner.

A: Light hay color. Pervasive rising effervescence, and plenty more clinging to the sides of the glass. Pours a 2+ finger, foamy, white head. Some slight beer ring lacing.

S: Hay and cotton candy and methane.

T: Paper... not much else.

M: Light body. Crisp. Shallow.

D: Session.

Atmosphere is fair. Lots of effervescence and a giant head, also some persistent lacing. Nose is light grain, with a strange sweetness, and pervasive odor of methane gas. Very light and shallow flavor, almost indistinct. Overall, this is not so good quaff.

Poured from a bottle into a shaker pint, the beer is a bright, light, straw coloring with a thin, low profile, sparse white filmy surface coating. Aromas of toast, floral highlights, and some funky esther. Flavors are tangy and light, with an effervescent character keeping the body crisp. Toasted grain backbone with some buttery highlights. The aftertaste is light, with a toasty character. Frothy, slightly sharp finish.

Not a lot to look at, kinda light tan and fizzy with a one finger head and not much lace.

Aroma is a bit of grains and sweet malts.

Flavor is a little grainy, a little sweet, with a bit of maltiness and not much in the way of hops.

Very light bodied and fizzy.

It's really not much different from your typical light American lager.

look: 2 | smell: 2 | taste: 2.75 | feel: 3 | overall: 2.5

Appearance-very washed out, one finger head of consistent bubbles, but faded fast
Smell- way too faint, even for a light beer, astringent sharp scented, had to really reach to detect any malt or hops at all
Taste-Pleasant enough for an American Light Lager…nothing lingering, but no unpleasant aftertaste, I find it better than Bud and Coors, but again on par as a light
Mouthfeel is non-distinct
Overall-Not a true replacement of the Shiner Blonde, it bears little in taste resemblance to that beer to me. I do like the fact that Spoetzl is trying to work a light beer and for that I will try to keep a six or two in the lager for friends who prefer light beers.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass, I got my girlfriend to split it with me, I have pretty low expectations. This pours a pale straw yellow with a small white head which quickly dissipates. The smells are somewhat sweet and light no real hop presence. The feel is very light. Taste is like what I expected very light adjunct.beer, but better than the big three lights.

Received a bottle in a trade w/ Llyb straight from the brewery! Poured from the Bright blue/white bottle into a 16oz Grand Teton Au Naturale Pint Glass. Has no freshness date on the bottle but not worried since I know its straight from the brewery last week!

Aroma- Has a very light malty aroma with almost nothing else present... Very clean and adjunct lager like.

Appearance- Pours a 2 finger, bubbly head that dies VERY quickly. Has the lightest yellow color before it can be considered water. Leaves a few suds behind.

Flavor- Very soft character with tons of sweetness and good malt character. Medium sweetness finish with no bitterness at all. Goes down easy.

Mouthfeel- Light Bodied, Highly Carbonated, Smooth, but a bit watered down.

Overall Impression- While the Blonde by Shiner (Spoetzl) is relatively easy going also, I had no trouble putting this one down in under 5 gulps. A bit too watered down for my taste. I know its a Light Blonde, but why have a style this easy? Enjoyed the beer for what it was!

A - Poured out a pale, straw yellow color with a one-finger, white head of bubbly foam. It left little to no lacing.

S - It smelled of grains and floral notes. Not much else.

T - It tasted of caramel, grains and slightly vegetal. Very slight bitterness.

M - It was crisp, sharp and smooth. A light bodied lager with a dry, clean finish.

O - This is a light easy drinking lager. Nothing fabulous but okay.

The shiner light blonde is what all light beer should strive to be. I'm not comparing it against Porters or Stouts-this would be unfair. Like taking a BB gun to a firefight overseas. But I was looking for something that was light and was surprised that I got this much flavor. Miller Lite eat your heart out.

A: Light cloudy straw/amber color. Poured a 3 finger white head with excellent retention to a 1 finger cap. Laced in webs and rings.

S: Light sweet grain. A hint of hay and grass.

T: Like the nose. All-and-all very light and muted. Transitions quickly to a light, but crisp, bitter.

M: Very light body. Ample carbonation. Crisp and refreshing.

D: Easily drinkable. Low ABV. Nothing wrong with the beer; just nothing notable.

Shiner Light Blonde into a standard pint. Pours light straw, smells like old steamed veggies and some sort of earthy funk, not too good.. Head retention is nil, no lacing to speak of. Taste follows the nose, mouthfeel is brisk, end of review.

Overall Shiner L.Blonde = fail

I prefer heaver beers, but my wife likes lighter beers, so I tried one of hers...Shiner Blonde was too light for me, this didn't have a chance. I didn't even finish the can.

A: Light, Light, Light...compare this to Mega Brew light beers

S: little skunky

T: bitter,

M: Very light body. Ample carbonation. Watery.

O: Probably good on a hot day.

Pours very pale yellow color. Virtually no head. What is there is carbonated. No lacing. Sour fruit aroma, yeasty. Bready with some spicy bitterness in taste. Nothing special. Drinkable but would only drink if nothing else present and really wanted a beer.

This transparent yellow beverage smelled a bit like hops, I thought. I tasted none, though. It was like lightly beerish flavoured carbonated water. And I don't like carbonated water. I'm an American. I was outside on a hot day, and I still would have preferred a Shiner Bock. Even those are pretty watery, though.
