Looks good, mostly clear and tannish-amber with a pretty good head and lace.

Floral and fruity smelling, biscuit malt, barley, and oddly, a touch of funk reminiscent of a tripel.

Taste is quite fruity, with crystal malts, barley, citrus, hops. It's a bit heavy on the maltiness for a pale ale, but it ain't bad at all. I find it far more bold and forward than many of Spoetzl's beers, which is refreshing to note. I still find it slightly tripel like, but that may just be me.

Body is pretty thick and rich for a pale ale, quite pleasing though. A fruity, slightly hoppy finish rounds it out.

It's not bad at all. I could buy a sixer of it and drink them all without complaint. I don't think it's world class, but it's tasty enough to enjoy. A good effort, hopefully Spoetzl will keep trying new and bolder beers over time.

Pours a slightly hazy golden orange color with a decent sized but short lived off white head. Aromas of bread and light caramel maltiness with hints of fruit and earthy hops. The flavor holds more earthy hop flavor than the aroma suggested backed up by a solid bready caramel malt base and lots of sugary fruitiness. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation. Decent pale ale, but kind of middle of the road. Nothing flawed, but a bit boring.

12 oz. brown Bottle. twist off. Into Dimpled Mug.

A: Mostly clear amber color. Medium sized off-white head. Good retention. No lacing.

S: Sweet malts. Weak floral hop aroma. Slight presence of pitted fruits.

T/M: Bread malts. Pepper. Floral hops. Pungent fruits. Medium bodied. grass. Has a nice
sharpness to the overall taste. Light dryness in the aftertaste.

O: Middle of the road Pale Ale. Easy and balanced enough to enjoy. Weak taste. Not bad
for Spoetzl.

Cheers!

My favorite of the Shiner series recently released in CT. Nice hazy yellow color. The smell had a lot of hop to it and the taste was similar with a lot of pine notes and a very clean finish. The mouthfeel was a little thick for a pale ale, but overall it was a decent beer.
