A: Reddish copper color with a little haze. Light tan biscuit head dissipated to a thin foam ring almost immediately. Low carbonation.

S: Sweet and malty with molasses and dark brown sugar. Cedar. Light pine sap.

T: Maltiness and sweetness up front again. Dry crisp autumn leaf flavor with a reasonable amount of crisp hoppiness. Not a big dry hop bomb like other pale ales, but enough to justify the pale ale name. Finishes with a mild wood and rich black dirt sort of flavor. It tastes like a rich wet deep mossy woods smells.

M: Mild dry. Could go for a slightly larger carbonation. Mild aftertaste of straw. Medium viscosity, theres a thickness to it. Nothing offensive, nothing outstanding.

O: I understand why other people don't rate this highly because its not trendy in the pale ale style. It's subdued. It's wet with a hint of dryness. It's quite good if you're not looking for the modern big pale ale. It's good but mellow for the style.

12 oz bottle poured into pint glass.

A: Poured a burnt orange color with about a fingers worth a head that settles to a ring with spotty lacing.

S: Great mix floral hops and sweet malts with a touch of caramel.

T: I'm getting the sweet malt up front with a mild floral hops finish. Very well balanced.

M: Light bodied, crisp yet smooth and clean.

O: A very good Pale Ale, very good mix of flavors and very well balance.... Worth looking for.

12 oz. bottle poured into nonic
(10/11/13 born-on date; drank on 12/22/13)

L: orange with a slight haziness; tan head at least 1/4 inch; very nice collar

S: major sweetness, apricot

T: caramel malty; apricot; a bit of barley and grain

F: decent carbonation, all-around fine

O: too sweet, tastes sugared up or flavored but not to the point of undrinkability; definitely a gateway beer at best, for there's more sweet here than anything and next to no hop presence; almost more of a bad imitation of an English pale than anything like an American pale
