Poured into a tulip glass. Pours hazy golden with a quickly dissipating thin white head. Numerous tiny bubbles are visible rising in the beer. Some nice lacing is left on the side of the glass during consumption. There are aromas of Belgian farmhouse funk with citrus and black pepper. There are grassy hop notes and bready malts. The flavor profile is not bold, but the flavors do follow the nose. The bready malts, Belgian yeast and citrus flavors do come through. The black pepper, grassy hops, and the malt profile do shine as well. However, it is on a bit of the watery side. The body is light with lively carbonation. The finish leaves a slightly sour aftertaste. The drinability is fairly easy. This is a very good beer from Shiner. It's nice to see them spread out with this sort of beer, but I will miss their Dortmunder.

Poured from 12 oz. bottle into a shaker pint.
A: Clear straw yellow to light amber. Full finger and a half head that sticks around for a good while.
S: Citrus. Wheat. Sour bread. Lemon overtones.
T: Light citrus turns into a bready sort of sour. None of the sourness and spice I was expecting. This beer is an example of what it is not more than what it is. The taste may be more suited for a French Jelly Glass.
M: Carbonation is low for me. I feel as if this could enhance some of the notes in the scent... but alas... they are absent. Def. on the low end of "medium bodied."
O: This beer would be a great house beer for a session after a long hard day. It is crisp, tasteless, and refreshing. I expected so much more from Shiner. Not a "must try," but like all beer, it is worth a taste.
