From notes taken 12/05/09. My first beer of the "Extravaganza."
Presentation: From tap into a tulip glass @ Jackie O's 4th Anniversary Extravaganza.
A- Orange / amber, and quite hazy - appears unfiltered. Thin white head, which fades slowly to a minimal cap, leaving good lacing.
S- Chock full of grapefruit/citrus and pine hopiness. Subdued sweetness eeks through.
T- Grapefruit-citrus-pine dominate. Bitterness level is high in a great way. Fantastic. Alcohol not noted.
M- Moderate carbonation. Surprisingly full and creamy, and goes down easy. Really excellent. Just how I want a nice DIPA to feel.
D- Excellent. I could've been happy to down these one after another...but they had ~37 additional beers on tap that needed sampling....
Future outlook: I was already a Jackie O's fan, and this offering certainly did nothing to dissuade me. Very happy that I grabbed a bottle of this from the sale!

Poured from a growler into a Teku glass
A: Deep orange with a one-finger head
S: A nice blend of all things hops- citrus, pine, tropical fruit with none standing out over another
T: Matches the nose- a balanced blend of all things IPA without any one note standing out
M: Full-bodied but dangerously balanced- not a hint of alcohol
O: A really well-made, balanced, tasty DIPA

Bright golden color. Orange on the nose. Nicely balanced fruit and malt with a nice long finish. Yum!
