From a 12 oz can (coded 30814A1BC) into a tulip.

A-A normal pour produces a three-finger head of off-white foam that clings to the glass in chunks. Retention is decent, i.e., more than three minutes and there is still a good cap. The beer is clear and golden-orange in color with a few stray bubbles of carbonation.

S-Hops are immediately obvious with citrus flavors, including a pithy orange peel scent, moderate bitterness, some juicy peach, and dank pine. It is a unique mix of earthy, old-school bitterness and new-school citrus.

T-The taste starts with an interesting (and pleasing) mix of citrus (orange mostly) and mint flavors. There is the same pithy, bitter orange peel from the nose, along with a bit of minty sharpness. The finish transitions to more of an earthy, pine bitterness. The toasted bready malts are mostly overwhelmed by the hops, but provide a helping bit of balance.

M-The feel is quite oily and dank with just enough carbonation to break things up. Heft is medium to heavy.

O-This is an interesting, and tasty, IPA. I like the mix of juicy fruit and citrus flavors with the earthy, pine-forward flavors. It doesn't wow me, but its a good IPA with pleasing smell and flavors, good looks, and a decent (if oily) feel. My first Jackie O's beer and I would happily drink more.

Serving Type - Can

Appearance - Copper tan/brown, nice 3/4 inch head with plenty of sticky lacing.

Smell - Dank, musky hops, very strong aroma. Grapefruit, oranges, pears, lemon. Minor malts near the finish. This smells intense.

Taste - Much like the smell, nice strong dank hops are immediate. Loads of grapefruit and orange mixed with some lemon, spices and sugars. Malts are really present after the first blast of hops. Caramel, toffee and some smoke add nice flavor.

Mouthfeel - Hops blast the tongue with full force. The palate gets more hops but some malts and sugars come in. The aftertaste is really piney and malty.

Overall - This is a really good beer, so glad it is now canned and available for customer purchase. Has a nice mix of bold hops, sweet malts, yet smooth and easy to drink. A winner for sure, will be drinking again for sure.

Thanks to Kurmaraja for this one. Poured into straight pint glass. Poured a semi hazy medium gold color with less than 1/2 inch of just off-white head that had moderate retention and lacing.

A big blast of hops hit the nose as I snapped the can open. A pretty even mix of pine, citrus and floral notes. In the glass though, citrus was the dominant scent. On the tongue, citrus was again the dominant factor, with little malt presence.

The body was the average medium of the style, with a dry finish. Drinkability was good, but didn't really leave lusting after another. Overall, if it were local to me, I'd have one once in awhile, but would rarely seek it out. Worth a shot if you see it.

I've been keeping an eye out for offerings from Jackie O's, I've only had one big bottle from them. This is the 3rd can, and the one I'm most likely to enjoy since it's an IPA, and not an amber or brown ale. Appears copper with a slightly hazed body big khaki head forms thick, fine even patterns of speckled lacing. Aroma has big resinous and citrus hop layers blended with some malts in the backend. Just enough malts to stand up to the hop bill, this is IPA the way I like it a bit abrasive on the senses but balanced overall. Flavors upfront big resinous hop layers, citrus peel mainly an orange/grapefruit peel sensation with enough punch from sugary malts to leave a bit of balance on the palate. Big bitter finish nice and dry on the palate no more than medium bodied, this is a great canned IPA I'm glad I got ahold of some of it finally. A great beer to be enjoyed by any true hop head the hops don't die down throughout the can carbonation is dead on mellow enough not to offend me but there's enough there to carry the resinous hop oils across my palate. Overall I'm glad I found this, thanks to wvsabbath for rolling with me on a beer hunting expedition, Zombie Dust was sold out but 2/3 Three Floyd's targets were available for purchase!!!

A- pours a slightly hazy pale golden-yellow color with a big foamy white head that retains nicely, leaving some patches of lace behind

S- picking up some danky and earthy hops, but they seem slightly subdued. There is a big grainy toasted aroma with some hemp and cracker-like malt

T- Hop flavors are more pronounced than aromas. Grassy, earthy and just a touch of tropical fruit. Sweet malty backbone kicks in mid-palate with some sweet honey flavors. The finish is somewhat dry and balanced

M- Medium body with moderate carbonation, smooth and creamy mouthfeel with a crisp finish, ABV s hidden brilliantly

O- This was a bit more malty than expected, I don't know how old it is because there's no can date. It was however very drinkable and could sneak up on you quick at 7%.

12oz can poured into a pint glass
A: Hazy amber color with a one-finger head
S: Pine hops with a hint of grapefruit pith & a mat backing up the hops
T: Matches the nose
M: Medium-bodied with a nice hop bite
O: A solid IPA that stands up to any of the better examples of the style I've had recently
