pours golden, slightly hazy. nice white head. on top from o'hooleys aug/06. a nice clean ale, light bodied with some wild grass/rooty hops flavor? finishes with hits of wheat. a nice clean beer but not my style. i was told that no wheat grains were actually used in the brew. not sure if this true though

On tap @ the brewpub on 6/3/10. Served in a pint glass.

Pours a slightly hazed light amber in the glass, with a thin covering of foamy eggshell-white head. This retains with more of a fizzy look, leaving just some light spotty foam behind. The aroma is fresh, floral, and tangy in the nose, with some light toasted biscuits, citric fruit, and gentle herbal hops all making themselves known. Decent flavors involved here but it's overall not really very robust.

The taste is mostly sweet toasted malts, with some fruity citrus pushing its way through. There's a relatively strong tingle of earthy and spicy hops here that offers up some balance and leaves this finishing herbal and dry. The mouthfeel is lighter-medium bodied, with a crisp smoothness to the feel that keeps this very easy drinking.

I was personally looking for a little more depth of flavor here but I can appreciate this for what it considered at the brewpub. Basically a starter brew to help get the college kids off the macros and onto the craft beer. Looking at it that way, this was solid for what it was.
