12 oz can poured into pint glass.

Pours hazy amber with a 1 1/2 finger off white head, which hangs on for about a minute. Light orange and pineapple in the nose. Mostly citrus but some smaller biscuity notes in there as well. The taste follows the nose with light orange and lemon. Not much malt. The mouthfeel is incredibly light, watery and lacks any depth. The only thing this beer has going for it, is its light ABV making it an okay session beer. For the style there is tons better, but this one has a little charm in the low ABV.

Poured from a 12oz. can into a standard pint glass.
Amber/orange in color, with a rather short head of bone-white foam.
Aroma-Citrus, biscuit malt
Taste-Toasted malt, fruity, citrus-rind bitterness in the background. A bit low-carbonated, but clean finishing and sessionable.

A: Reddish amber with an off white head. decent lacing.

S: Toasted malt and alot of pale malt. bread with the slightest little hint of toast. a little yeast. buttery.

T: Pale malt almost like stale bread. Toast. floral aspects that never quite get going. a little grapefruit and pine finish which is decently long.

M: Thin with some pretty good carbonation that makes it drink somewhat easy.

O: This is a decent offering i'm just struggling to find much in the way of flavor. you could definitely finish off a six pack quick though. / 76

Appearance: Arrived in a can with interesting artwork, but the beer pours an uninteresting color unlike what I hope for in an amber ale with a short head.

Smell: Malt and a touch of citrus from the hops along with some grain. Less sweet smelling than most amber ales.

Taste: Malt largely overpowers the hops, as is typical for the style, but nothing really stands out as far as being "unique" as the can advertises. It tastes OK.

Mouthfeel: Thin/medium bodied, carbonation is average. The beer goes down very, very easy .

Overall: For an amber ale the ABV is on the lower end of the spectrum and it is thin, but the beer also some pretty good flavors too. In fact, it's odd to find a beer that is so thin and has such a low ABV that has as much flavor as this does. However, I can't say it tastes spectacular by an means. It makes for a decent session beer.

Well if it isn't a very nicely made but undistinguished amber. I'm not sure I would call it an American amber because that would mean that in some way (hops) it is over the top and this barely is.

It pours a boring color for an amber. The head is just OK. The aroma is slightly malty slightly hoppy. Nice.

The taste is just a bit hoppier than a lighter amber, and there is a nice malt balance. No yeast taste as appropriate for the style.

The aftertaste is a nice hops experience. Overall, it is nice, but undistinguished.

Very nice to see Jackie O's offerings in the can, I picked up a six of the Firefly Amber and their honey nut brown ale. I've had one of their stellar sours once before, this pours a rich glowing amber just slightly hazed beautiful cream colored head full sturdy carbonation with fine bubbles building into a textured head. Aroma has just a touch of some earthy grapefruit hops, semi perceived sweetness, with bready malt notes. Pretty light on my nares, let's see how it tastes...balanced rolling amber ale. The malts aren't sticky or heavy with sweetness actually finishes quite dry, grapefruit peel, earthy hop additions form into a really nice drinkable amber ale nothing more nothing less don't expect fireworks. Expect really drinkable solidly made beer in cans from an adventurous brewer none for his mad scientist casks and sours. Light to medium bodied even flowing carbonation ample bitterness from the hops leaves for a nice dry aftertaste. Overall experience is a good one, but I can't wait to see some distribution of some of their more adventurous beers!!!
