This one pours a light bodied light gold in color, mild turbidity, with little to no lacing. The nose is light and tart. Never having Paw Paw, I would assume that is the fruit character I'm missing. Regardless, it smells like a blond sour should. It's fleshy with some tannic white orchard fruit. It's light and tart. I dig it. It has a touch of brett in the finish too, mailing the finish light and dry. I like the flavor. It's light enough to.session and tart enough to satisfy somewhere in between a Berliner and a Petrus. It's a nice beer. It's worth chasing down. It's a Temptation man's sour.

Appearance: Pours a murky apricot color without much of a head and, what there is, fades quickly, leaving a few dots and dashes
Smell: As the beer warms, the paw paw aromatics come through, bringing the subtle hints of banana, lemon, passion fruit, star apple and guava; plenty of Bretty funk, too
Taste: The malt bill of an APA underpins the explosion of fruit and sour flavors that build in the middle; before the tart flavors, the paw paw really delivers with banana, star apple and passion fruit until it gets overwhelmed by lactic sourness; funky Brett flavors develop in the aftertaste, but the finish is primarily sour
Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with low to moderate carbonation; puckery
Overall: We grow paw paws in North Carolina, too, so I have some idea what they are all about and this beer really shows them off well; I suspect the sourness has built over the last few years this beer has aged in my cellar; a first rate effort
