On tap at Jackie O's at the August release.

Appearance
I'm stealing my appearance score from Schwaeh's pour. He took his sample out around back to bring it back into the pub side. As soon as he stepped outside a bee flew right in it. Perfect.

The beer is a deep, rusted amber with fair clarity. Not much of a head but a few wisps.

Aroma
There is plenty of bready and snappy wheat. Caramel and toffee play a part in sweetening things up, along with some clover and honey.

Taste
Woody and earthy, despite not being aged in wood, I believe. The beer is bitter with lots of snappy wheat, spice and pine. The pine really is what is giving this beer its bitterness.

Mouthfeel
A good level of alcohol warmth keeps you aware that this is a wheatWINE. Sticky, oily and full bodied.

Overall
A really good wheatwine, especially as a base to the couple other barreled treatments of this. Wood Ya Honey being one of Jackie O's better beers.

A - Amberish brown beer with just a touch of a white head. Not much stick left on the sides.

S - Bit of wheat, caramel, toffee. Clover honey is pretty evident, malts are light.

T - Sweet malt backbone. Touch of wheatwine like booze is nicely appropriate. There is some nice clove honey.

M - Medium bodied beer with a healthy amount of carbonation.

O - Interesting beer. The honey comes through pretty clean and the wheatwine has a nice presence as well. One of the better takes I've seen on a wheatwine in a while.

On-tap at Jackie O's Feb 5th Stout and Big Beer Fest

A: Pours a cloudy amber brown color with a thin, off-white head.

S: Sweet, dark fruity malts are most noticeable here, with bits of wheat and tartness as well. Very traditional Jackie O's, in regards to the "plum" dark fruits and tartness.

T/M: Extremely sweet, sticky and dry representation of the flavors picked up in the nose; almost jars the throat going down, much like syrup. Medium-thick body with a palate coating sticky quality; finishes dry with surprisingly high carbonation for a wheatwine (or any of its buddies the barleywines).

D: Too sweet to have in large amounts, but unique and certainly worth a try for one glass.

Had side by side with Berry Grove and Wood ya Honey

Pours smooth and dark orange with burnt colours. Smells of honey and sweet sweet booze. Very strong scent. Very complex on the tongue. Honey and sweetness strong on the tongue. Smooth and thick palette with slight carbonation. Overall definitely a sipper.
