A: Cloudy amber brown, with one finger head and decent lacing.
S: Caramel/toffee malts, with light citrus and pine hops- a bit less than I was expected from an imperial amber.
T: Dark fruit malts, particularly plums and grapes, really dominate the taste here, which is surprising given the style. Not much hop bitterness even on the finish, but a good taste overall.
M: Medium body and moderate carbonation; foamy and creamy.
D: The sweet focus of this beer is interesting- it's not too sweet, so it's better than something totally imbalanced in favor of bitterness, but I would probably like it more with a bit more variety in the flavor. Hope I can make it to Jackie O's in August for the brandy barrel-aged version of this- it sounds like a great pairing.

Massive thanks goes out to mikesgroove for pulling this one out during our Growler Party this weekend! Served from growler into a Stone nonic. Poured a deep red-orange with a minimal off-white head. Maintained decent lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, caramel, subtle dark chocolate, and hints of bread. The flavor was of sweet malt, caramel, dark chocolate, slight butter, and very slight bread. It had a medium feel ont he palate with medium-high carbonation. Overall this was a pretty nice brew. It was quite easy drinking which surprised me for the ABV. Nothing on this one really jumped out at you to make you think it was Superfly as by taste alone I would have guessed this was Firefly. Still a very nice example of the style and definitely worth trying!

another wonderful growler i was able to open up last night with calton at the party. poured into the infamous tumbler and consumed of 5.14.11
pours out a nice deep amber color with a light haze that quickly faded and a nice big head of white which coats the glass very nicely.
aroma is deep bready malts, lots of caramel notes, grains, buttery touches. very earthen with a very robust profile. flavor follows suit nicely as this does not come across as strong as it is, really it just simply does not. wonderful full body has an almost chewy feel to it and it really gos down dmooth with a nice clean finish and light sweet notes that pass by.
overall really well done. did not expect to like this one nearly as much as i did.
