Another Jackie O's from rudzud.

Light fizzy head, dark murky color.

Nose is crazy raspberry, fresh berry fruit and syrupy, mild toasty brown malt, little caramel, little toffee,

Taste little syrupy malt, mild cocoa and choc, then syrupy raspberry juice, little fresh rasp too, little caramel brown malt, juicy, little mocha. Finish is dry sticky, little flemmy, mild caramel and choc, little raspberry.

Mouth is med bod, little syrupy, mild booze, decent carb.

Overall great but not as epic as I expected, little syrupy and flemmy, great raspberry and dark malts. Tasty.

2011 bottle 50/210

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a super murky brown with nearly no head or lacing.

S - Aromas of big big raspberry notes, musty basement light sweetness, really musty withvinegar.

T - Taste is very tart, musty raspberry, old seeds, really tasty old raspberries, malt, vinegar.

M - Mouthfeel is nice, light easy drinking.

O - Overall this beer was very tasty, much better than I thought it would be.

Enjoyed from a JO tulip

a - brew poured a murky muddy brown. Thick and sludgy with minimal head and no lacing to speak of. Not all that attractive.

s - big raspberry, some acetone. Smells kind of kreiky and nice.

t - opens with big acetone sourness but that is quickly washed over with a raspberry wash that coats the tongue. The finish is a boozy tingle, but beyond that, the barrel is muted by the fruit. In a word or a few, prickly raspberry.

m - thick and chewy, but the sour prickle gives a pucker.

o - overall, from the spunds of the reviews, time has mellowed out the bad parts, but this one feels a bit old. The sour is a bit acetone and i feel that it will only get worse, but whatever over oak flavors that folks complained about in the past are gone from this bottle. Drink em if you got em. Not great, but not bad either. A bit pungent.

1690th Review on BA
Bottle to Woodshop Snifter
22oz

Shared at Steve's house

App- Pours out a murky looking purple/brown color with a bit of a wood stain color behind it. More like a cordial as well. The fruits add a nice color. No head but a couple of bubbles behind it. No cling or lace either.

Smell- Lots of the barrel comes out on this one with additional raspberries and some char. A bit one dimensional and not as welcoming as I would've thought for a wild ale. Thick on the nose.

Taste- This was okay. A bit of a let down for me. This seemed more akin to a more malt forward beer and like a brown ale with the fruit added. I would've like a bit more fruit and prickly flavors of the yeast to come out.

Mouth- A bit too thick for me with more of a medium dense body and a pretty creamy medium carbonation. The residual flavors are of oak and berry. Just ok.

Drink- This was a nice beer to try but wouldn't actively search it out for a wild ale trade.
