Had on tap at the brewery. Brewed with local pie pumpkins, nutmeg, allspice, ginger, cinnamon, coriander and brown sugar.

A: Pours a slightly cloudy darker amber with two quarters of tan head.

S: Pumpkin, nutmeg and allspice but mainly allspice,

T: Allspice upfront followed by some cinnamon, roasted malt and mild pumpkin. Finish is a little piney hop bitterness.

M:Lighter side of medium body with good carbonation

O: A nice pumpkin beer.

On tap at JO's beer release 08/27/2011

Nice combo of fall spices.

Smooth for the ABV and has a better smell and mouth-feel than most beers of this style.

Medium body.

Slightly cloudy, similar to a Belgian wheat, but the color of burnt amber.

Good campfire beer.

hazy tan/brown with cloudy specs of spice. mild tan head is foamy with good lacing. Smells of typical pumpkin spice with a good dose of yeast in the nose. Tastes are mild spices of clove, nutmeg cinnamon and brown sugar. Pumpkin doesn't really come through, just the spices associated with it. Crust like flavor from the yeastiness here makes itself known. Primarily a nutty flavor from a nut brown base. Medium light body that coats well but leaves little aftertaste.

Overall, nice flavors, but nothing spectacular. Looking for a bit more of a pumpkin flavor here, but the spices were a unique blend in terms of proportion. Solid spiced beer, but not strong in the pumpkin category.

On-tap at King's Table, Beavercreek, OH

A: The beer is clear amber in color and has no visible carbonation. It poured with a short off white head that died down and left a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of sweet pumpkins are present in the nose along with hints of alcohol.
T: The initial taste starts out with flavors of sweet pumpkins but quickly transitions to notes of alcohol that linger through the finish.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I didn't consider this beer to be very drinkable because the flavors of alcohol are all to present in the taste.

I had this on-tap during the anniversary celebration. Served in a tasting glass.

Appearance: The beer pours a slightly cloudy amber/light brown color with a half finger of thick tan head. The head fades to a layer on top of the pour and leaves some lacing on the glass.

Smell: Slightly sweet from the malt with a nice hint of pumpkin. I'm getting some pie spice, vanilla, and a slight caramel note.

Taste: This is a nicely spiced pumpkin beer. Just a touch of bitterness throughout with some caramel malt to balance it out. The finish is rather bitter.

Mouthfeel: The body is medium with fluffy carbonation and a finish that is really dry.

Overall: I would have liked the bitterness level to be a bit lower. The pumpkin to spice mix was nice. I'd have more in the future.

Had this on the eve of the August 27th JO's release. Received in a pint glass.

4.0 A: Lightly hazed dark amber color. Two fingers of creamy beige head with decent retention and a small ring of lacing.

3.5 S: Lighter on the spice than I'd prefer, but still nice. This is closer to a regular amber than a "pumpkin beer." Moderately bready with a touch of herbal hoppiness.

3.0 T: A bit underwhelming as a pumpkin beer. Rather, this is a fairly standard amber - light caramel and toffee are the main components. Just a touch of pumpkin spice. Good enough, but not memorable.

3.5 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation. I'd like a touch more creaminess.

3.5 D: Worth a try, but I like my pumpkin beers to be bigger on the pumpkin and spice.

Had on tap at the Jackie O's 8/27 bottle release. Appears a hazy orange in the glass with very minimal eggshell head. Smell on this one is top notch. Big cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice smell, all the traditional pumpkin pie notes are hit with this one. Taste is very solid but a bit more muted than what you get in the nose. The pumpkin is there, but I'd say this is more of a spice forward pumpkin ale. Nice level of carbonation for the style. Really nice solid pumpkin style beer in this one. Jackie Os has a great seasonal winner on there hands here.

Comparing to the regular draft version, review form notes.

Served in a pint glass. Still a ruddy orange color but with a large nitro head, leaves decent lacing.

The nose is rich and spicy - lots of the typical pie spices. Nutmeg is most apparent, as is sweet caramel candy corn.

Drinks really smooth. I found this beer on nitro to be delicious, and I prefer it this way to the non-nitrogenated version. Typical thick luscious nitro mouthfeel and body.

I think that the main difference is that this version seemed to have more of a flavor punch, which I found odd because many beers on nitro seem to lack the edge that their normal counterparts have.

Recommended, especially on nitro.

On tap at Jackie os. This beer is pretty solid. Im not a big pumpkin person but I'm writing a review because it's quite tasty and definitely a crowd pleaser. Smells spicy and malty. A touch of pumpkin but not very strong. Good solid mouthfeel. Enjoyable but not stellar. thanks for calling me out Chris

This is a righteous pumpkin ale. Athens is awesome at Halloween and so is this beer!

I was excited to try a pumpkin ale from Jackie O's. Served on nitro at the August release.

The sample glasses didn't allow for a whole lot of cascading, frothy head. This one is a very cloudy burnt orange color.

Lots of unique spices. Ginger stands out well. Nutmeg and cinnamon are there but thankfully subdued enough as to not ruin the beer, making it a cinnamon bomb. There is a really nice sweetness from what I think must be brown sugar and pumpkin.

Ginger is clearly there along with more typical spices like cinnamon and nutmeg. This beer has a surprising bitterness on the finish. The middle is sweetened pumpkin and brown sugar.

The nitro tap is the perfect serving for this beer. The body is so smooth and creamy. It really helps it have a pumpkin pie feel to it.

This one drinks very easily. The ABV is very well hidden. I'd like a whole pint of this.
