American Wild Ale |  7.00% ABV

Availability: Rotating

Notes/Commercial Description:
We took our Razz wheat and soured it with B. Lambicus, Pediocaccus, and Lactobacilious it was then blended with our Organic Honey Nut Brown. Then blend was keg conditioned for 6 months allowing the wild yeast and bacteria to gorge themselves on the sugar rich nut brown portion of the blend. This beer is ripe with complexities including a fruity, musty, beady, and leathery nose and a light caramel covered raspberry flavor that finishes very tart and semi dry.

Thanks to rudzud for sharing.

Light fizzy head, dark mahogany brown color with plenty of ruby light.

Nose complex tart fruit, raspberries very nice, sour malts, malt vinegar, light caramel and cocoa, molasses, light barrel, etc.

Taste sour malts, malt vinegar, sour raspberry, tart fruits, dark malts like brown sugar and creamy brown malts, hint of molasses and caramel, nice overall sourness and a cranberry like tartness. Tart sticky finish tart sour malts and raspberry.

Mouth is med bodied, sticky little flemmy, decent carb.

Overall a nice beer, good dark malts with great raspberry fruit and good sour flavors, very well done and tasty.

Reviewed from notes. Shared by Sasha - thanks. Bottle #133 of 250 (2014).

A: Pours a light brown with reddish highlights under an off-white, 1/2" head which yields some spotty lace.

N: Juicy raspberries, basalmic tartness, fruity.

T: Fruity raspberries, aged wood, dark roasted malts, some tartness.

M: Moderate body and medium carbonation. Tart and fruity finish.

O: Soured brown and oak aged with raspberries is enjoyable.

Bottle from the math trade, split with Pete in some Jackie o glassware.

196/400 from 2013

Brew pours deep maroon almost purple settles almost black in the glass. Nice head and great lacing. Nose is super sour and fresh raspberry.super ripe raspberry. Bathe oak comes in to smooth things out with a subtle hint of vanilla. Really easy drinker for something so sour. Quite tasty and done right. Really ripe fruit. Really great.
