Located behind my hotel on the beautiful Rue St. Paul. It was the first stop on my mini beer tour of the beautiful and cold city of Montreal.

The interior was cavernous with a very large four sided bar. There were tun. kettles and other brewing paraphanalia present. There was ample seating in the fron bar area and a large dining area.

There were four house beers on tap, all very similar in flavor presumably due to the house yeast strand. The beer were light and flavorful and the service friendly and helpful.

The food was pretty good and suprisingly regional. The location was key as it was the only brewpub in Old Montreal.

After a walking tour of Old Montreal we decided to stop here for a couple of beers and lunch. Having enjoyed the brewpub in Toronto we felt comfortable in our choice. We were wrong. The waiter was friendly enough but kept bring us the wrong order. The beers are OK, nothing special but nothing bad, however the selection was limited, only four beers available. The food was rather bland and nothing was served at the proper temperature. Did not hang around for a second round of brews.

real cool spot right on st paul in the old part of town, a very european vibe here. the atmosphere is neat, its a big old building with visible copper brewing gear and condition tanks. neat decor from the old days of the city, canadiens hockey stuff, old pictures, exposed stone. its got a real unique and cozy feel for how big it is, and feels like its been here forever. the food looks good, but we didnt eat. they only had four beers on, as the seasonal was out, but the ones we tried were yummy. the white was the winner i thought of the lot. close to ten bucks per beer though in canadian dollars is awful steep for what it was, perhaps more of a tourist price given the area. the service was lousy, not that busy and took a long time to get a drink. im real generous with this kind of stuff, so to call it out as bad means it was pretty brutal. not interested or friendly at all, and certainly not attentive, but we sat at the bar and it might be better at a table. overall a fun place to step in out of the cold and grab a classic canadian beer, but bring the pocket book and some patience.

Not much difference between this location vs. Laval. The main exception is the lovely locale of Old Montreal--if you can get onto the patio on a pleasant summer day it is a treat because the street is closed to vehicular traffic.

The service was atrocious--we had to beg a server to come over (one of the four standing idly in a corner). The server turned out to be engaging and friendly--but slow.

Food quality is quite good with interesting fare on offer--always the usual suspects on tap (Brune is best bet) but they're better than OK house beers.

Only brewpub in this part of town.

Didn't know this was a chain until I saw the sign...visited one in Strasbourg 10 years ago and just thought it was a local microbrewery. So we went in and had a flight, plus the Biere de Mars. We sat at the bar, and chatted w/the bartender, a bloke from Brittany. He was knowledgeable, friendly, attentive, chatty, and curious about our opinions of the beer. The beer was good, and after trying the five main varieties on tap, we had a mixed beer drink, the Sortilege, with the blanche, and a whiskey/maple syrup liqueur. The atmosphere was pleasant...perfect for the grey afternoon...it was relatively quiet and open, yet comfortable. A worthwhile stop.

My family visited Montreal while dropping off my eldest for college. We were in Old Montreal and decided to give this place a try. We felt fortunate to have a personable (albeit a little naive on beer) server who was efficient and entertaining.

The beer is not the strong suit here, although it is better than the typical pub offerings of Molson or Labatts. Of the four I tried, I found the La Brune to be the most enjoyable.

The food was fine. Again, it was the typical brew pub fare and not really worth expanding upon.

The atmosphere to this brewpub is pretty decent. It has ample room inside, but no liquor license for the tables outside, which is too bad, since this would have enhanced the experience. The brewpub specializes in Flamm's, which are thin cracker crusty pizzas. I had a few different iterations of this and they were all pretty good. The service was pretty slow.

As for the beer. I wasn't impressed with any of them. I didn't write down or formally review the beers because none of them would I venture back for another. I had their blanche, which I remember being the best of the lot. It didn't have the florals or the orange rind character to make it even an interesting witbier. Overall, it was just pretty uninteresting beer fare, not all that well made or well crafted. I look at it as brew pub beer for the masses. I had their sampler and I was done.

I just got back from a week long booze cruise and was a little tired, but it was a friend's birthday so I couldn't miss it. We ate at this steak house in Old Montreal, and we wanted to have a beer or two afterwards, and this place was just a few blocks away, so even though I'm not a big fan of the 3B franchise, I didn't complain.

Ambiance is quite lively, mostly early 20-somethings partying solidly. With all the ruckus, TVs and peanut shelves on the floor, ambiance is more sports bar than brewpub at times. They even had a bouncer at the door, first time I've ever seen this at a brewpub! Like all of the other locations, the layout and surroundings look great, its' location in this historic neighborhood gave it a more legitimately 'genuine' feeling to it. I'm sure most of the design elements were already there within the building itself, all they had to do was add the French Brasserie trinkets and that was it. It certainly isn't a place for a quaint romantic dinner or a quiet pint with just you and your notebook, but after a hearty meal it was just what we wanted.

Selection is the same as everywhere, your basic, cookie-cutter blonde, red, amber brews. However, they had something new, a maple Beer called la Belle Province, served bottled in a swig-top bottle. It was actually pretty nice, it wasn't as sweet as I thought it would be, and actually had a decent yeasty flavor that went down great. I usually struggle to drink down my pint in this franchise but I dusted off my 750mL with no problems. I was quite pleasantly surprised.

I guess this location is my favorite of the bunch, if only for the atmosphere on a Saturday night. If you're a tourist passing through town and your wife/friends insist on visiting Old Montreal, you can stop here for a pint but you're way better off checking out the city's local brewpubs. I wouldn't eat here, the food is okay at best and there are much better options out there.

I visited the "Trois Brasseurs" on St. Catherine twice in the last week.
The French Onion Soup was interesting - traces of cheese pervade the soup until the very end - I like that.
I also tried one of the "Flamms", the Chevre Chaud - well - however its spelled, the one with the olive oil and goat cheese with lots of diced tomatoe and onion on an extremely thin pizza-like crust. It's a fine appetizer if you are 250 pounds, and may fill you if you are considerably of smaller appetite.
The beers, Brune, Blonde and Ambree (Amber) are very nice, with Happy Hour from 5-7 PM, M-F, where the Amber and Blonde pints come at you via the "demi" pint price.
I like this place. The Strip steak from the grill is nice, too!

skip it...big crowded noisy bar atmosphere with limited elbow room and tv coverage...bland applebees/chilis/the 99, mainstream chain restaurant type food and the beer was even worse...terrible selection of 4 types of beer, which they simply call blonde, white, red, and dark, if i remember correctly, i think they were, respectively, attempts at a pale ale, witbier, red ale, and stout, but all failed miserably...to my horror i ordered a sampler and watched the waitress top off my underfilled glasses with what was either water or the pale ale...needless to say these beers would have been bad enough without the help...all light in mouthfeel, no nose, and lacking any character, very forgettable all in all...avoid this place if you can, especiallhy since you'll find two or three much better brewpubs within 5 or 6 blocks

Reminded me alot of a big US brewpub, very large, super high ceilings, lots of space. We were there about 9-10pm on a weeknight just for a beer before we returned to our hotel. The atmosphere wasn't anything special, not welcoming but not alienating either, it felt very familiar due to its similarity to many a US brewpub. The service was inattentive and difficult to get, slow slow slow. The beer selection was sad, a bruin, blonde, blanche and ambree. Tried the blanche and blonde--bland but inoffensive. We did not try any food. Even though this location was a block from our hotel, we never returned, the convenience of location didn't matter as the beers were unremarkable and it was worth our time to go elsewhere for better. I would only try this place if you REALLY needed a beer and there was nowhere else to go
