330ml bottle.

This beer pours a clear, bright golden yellow hue, with a half finger of fizzy off-white head, which does as expected and drops out of sight in an instant, leaving nothing but a low ring of clingy lace around the shoreline. It smells of sweet corn and sour grainy malt, a subtle whiff of mild mountain sulfur, and earthy, weedy hops. The taste is more sweet sour bready malt, a stronger metallic sulfur character than I was lead on about, and some moderately skunky, weedy hops. The carbonation is average, and a little zippy, the body light, but not thin, and a little sugary. It finishes off-dry, the matchstick tainted malt still keeping dryness at bay.

I can't seem to actually outright dislike this offering - it's plain, sure, with some off-flavours, that just aren't really that off-putting. Or maybe I just really want a not-too-dumbed-down cabin beer right now...

LCBO. Not bad for this normally mediocre beer style. Wafted cheese smell on the pour. Very yellow body with some lace. Bit thin mouthfeel. The yeast brings out a maltiness on the sugar side, with a tad of a Saaz-like salty hop. The glacier water is suited to it, so that it is in fact Pilsner-like. Drying finish.

Pours a clear golden yellow with 2 finger foamy white head and leaves nice sticky lacing, smells skunky right off the bat,it did come in a clear bottle, stale corn, wheat and wet grass.Taste is corn and grass with wheat coming through, finish is dry and stale and does leave a funny aftertaste, medium carbs, very bubbly, this is a different kinda tasting lager than most, not really that bad but not something i'll have on a regular basis.

Pours amber with a large, lasting head.
Nose shows hay, sweet cereal-like malt and corn. Not bad but not what you'd call nice either.
Similarly sweet flavours, more hay and cooked vegetables. Pretty much no bitterness. Cloying.
Could use more carbonation.

Bottle courtesy of Irondjin: Poured a deep golden color lager with a big pure white bubbly head with average retention and some good lacing. Aroma of sweet malt with no adjunct detected. Taste is dominated by some sweet malt with no noticeable hops which could have increase the profile of this beer. Body is average for the style with some good carbonation. Overall, not a bad attempt but lacking some element to makes this truly interesting.

Pours a bright golden color with 2cm of head that is slowly fading, but lacing the glass. Doesn't have much aroma, a little spicy and a little yeasty. Tastes very clean, a little yeast (to go with the aroma) and not much else. No hop flavor or bitterness, no malt that I can taste. Mouthfeel is watery and flat. Overall, it's a very good attempt at a bland macro by a microbrewery.

I share the trepidition of everyone else regarding the clear bottles, but let's see how she holds up as a result... Pours out a deep clear golden, lots of carbonation, and capped by a high foamy white head with decent retention. Sharp grains on the nose at first, but they soften up a bit. Also a bit of grassy hops. Mostly light grainy malt in the flavour, and somewhat watery at that, one-dimensional. Mouthfeel is light and watery as well.

Appearance - Good looks for a lager, bubbly, leaving wisps on the glass.

Smell - Slight sweet smell with hints of wheat.

Mouthfeel - A light body, with a smooth texture.

Taste - Slight sweet malt flavor, most noticable in the aftertaste, and improving as you drink.

Drinkability - Refreshing.

Bottle from the LCBO- A deep golden pour topped with a frothy and long lived white cap. Nose of cooked vegetables, butter, some pale malts. Tastes of vegetables with sweet butter, some rancid stale pale malts. Not good at all. Awful. One of the worst of the year for me.

It is a cold, snowy day - perfect for catching up on some reviews from my notes.

341 ml clear bottle (as pictured above) from a mixed Whistler case.
"Naturall brewed and carefully aged without preservatives or additives. A pure and truly refreshing lager. Brewed exclusively with Whistler Glacier Water. Born in the pristine icefields, naturally filtered by the mountains themselves. Whistler Glacier Water is brought directly to the Whistler Brewing Company to create a pure and truly refreshing brew."

This beer is clear, bright yellow color. Hard pour coaxed out half an inch of fizzy, white head. No retention or lace. It smells of sweet corn syrup, and sour grain malt.
The taste has the similar sweetish start and sour finish. Slightly skunk-like hops (hate the clear bottles, regardless of the brewer). The carbonation is on the fizzy side, the body is thin and light. Average at best, but I will give it another go.

Poured a 330-ml bottle into a pint glass.

Appearance - good straw-coloured beer with a 1/4-inch white head. Decent lacing as the glass was drained.

Smell - some sour malt notes for sure, not promising. Reminds me of some cheap buck-a-beer offerings from the late-90s.

Taste - round malt flavour but too heavy on the veggie flavour and tinny-sour aftertaste. Just not on the mark.

Mouthfeel - fairly active up front but then dies to a creamy sensation. Unexpected and has a mediocre effect.

Drinkability - not what I hoped for or expected. Certainly looked sharp before I opened the bottle.

Golden with a good sized dirty white head. OK macro lager aromas, cardboard and sourdough..no its not that bad! Taste seems to have a little more going on, there seems to be a nice biscuity maltiness, and a tangible bitterness..I take that is from the hops? Not bad on the palate, just above average for style. Overall not a bad little lager.

Pours gold in colour, very clear with small head. Smell is mostly malts, bread and toasted almost burnt sugar. Taste is the same with kinda sweet unpleasant aftertaste. Medium bodied a bit over carbonated. It's kinda drinkable, but really, I don't think it's a good lager. Next one please.

I don't know what is with all the bad reviews whining about a clear bottle, this beer was a nice surprise to me.

Pours a dark gold with a nice creamy white head that stays until the last drop, very nice looking lager.

Smells citrusy, bready with some nice spicey hops coming through at the end. The clear bottle didn't skunk it up.

A nice tasting lager, nice sweet citrus, some bready malts and a nice spicy hop finish.

This is a very smooth and creamy lager, pretty heavy almost like an ale, but very enjoyable.

Whistler Export Lager pours a clear light gold with a beautiful fluffy head that lingers into a nice lacing. Sulfur is the first thing that I smell, followed by crisp caramel sweetness. The skunky characters hits upfront in the flavor followed by the light crystal malt sweetness. Some buttery diacetyl comes across in the finish, with a light hop bite. Unfortunately, what could be a smooth, easy drinking yet flavorful lager is really ruined by the skunky flavors. The clear glass bottle hurts what could otherwise be a pretty decent beer.

330ml poured into pint glass jan4 2009

A clear light gold with with a two finger head after an angry pour, two finger head quickly falls to a 1/4 inch film leaving a fair bit of lace

S quite sweet with some mild hops and and a little grass

T has that cooked veggies taste that hurts its cause and has a bad aftertaste that's a little sour

M thin but enough carbonation to keep it average

D bad taste is never a good thing, I will avoid this one in the future

hey at least it wasn't skunked with the clear bottle. not worth trying much worse then it looked
