Poured from a 650ml bottle. This is apparently an unfiltered wheat beer wth pineapple juice added to it. The colour certainly reflects this, as it is a rich cloudy gold. Tons of sweet fruit and grains on the nose. There's no doubt about the addition of pineapple! The taste reinforces this. It's way more pineppple-y than Maui Brewing's version of this, but I kind of like it. It's a touch sweet, but still nicely balanced, all things considered.

L: Dark gold colour, cloudy, two inches of thick, white head (poured into spiegelau wheat beer glass)
S: white flour, lightly toasted white bread, apple and pineapple notes, general fruitiness, subtle clove
T: Semi-sweet, pineapple, apple, white flour, some grainy notes, hints of clove spicyness
F: Medium body, highly carbonated, rich mouthfeel, finish is a little on the sweet side, get a bit of pineapple in the aftertaste
O: Pineapple is subtle, adds a nice twist to an otherwise quite decent wheat beer. Super refreshing and easy drinking, great for a hot summer day!

Appearance - Pours a hazy amber with two fingers of foamy white head.
Smell - wheat malts, pineapple fruit and juice, hint of lemon, earthy and leafy hops.
Taste - Pineapple fruit and juices along with wheat, hint of lemon, and slight bitterness from earthy and leafy hops.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with light to moderate carbonation. Finishes dry with lingering pineapple acidity.
Overall - Pineapple was promised and pineapple was delivered! Very good use of fruit in a wheat beer. A refreshing patio sipper for the coast.

The pineapple taste is faint, which is nice. It has an odd aftertaste that reminds me of the taste of pennies. That is kind of weird, but I'm not against it.

A very refreshing wheat beer. The pineapple flavour is subtle but definitely apparent.

650ml bottle. Nothing says West Coast BC, and specifically Whistler, like a pop culture pothead reference.
This beer pours a deeply cloudy, medium golden yellow hue, with three fingers of puffy, and somewhat rocky Swiss cheese head, which leaves some randomly chunky island group lace around the glass as things duly settle.
It smells of grainy wheat malt, a pile of attendant spices - clove, and white pepper, mostly - musty canned pineapple, and indistinct drying leafy hops. The taste is much more fruity right up front, the pineapple rendering as a bit more fresh and zingy now, the wheaty malt holding steady, with a slight sour tang, a touch of earthy yeast, and some clove and ginger rounding out the requisite (here, at least) spiciness.
The bubbles are present, in low doses, harshing no buzz here, the body just on the lee side of middleweight, generally smooth, and with slight hints of an ethereal creaminess. It finishes fairly off-dry, as the inherent sweetness of the wheat malt still presides, bolstered still by the lingering pineapple fruitiness.
Not a shabby fruit beer, by a long stretch, the pineapple deftly applied - I was initially fearing a sugar-bomb, but no such thing materialized. The guest fruit is actually more complex than expected, especially as things progress - memories of last year's trip to Honolulu are readily invoked.

poured from a 650ml bottle bought yesterday at the BC Liquor Store for $5.75 + deposit.
Categorizing this as a fruit/vegetable beer is true, but not necessarily all that informative. This is an unfiltered wheat ale with pineapple. From the label:
"We start with a light blonde ale grist, and add a ratio of pure wheat malt. We then blend pineapple crush into the mash, and drizzle juice into the fermenter."
A: Very hazy gold with two fingers of head that dissipated fairly quickly leaving lacing behind.
S: I'm picking up the pineapple and also some sourness and graininess, from the wheat.
T: I like this! The pineapple isn't overpowering and I pick it up mainly in the aftertaste. It's also not overly sweet but not really sour either.
F: Crisp.
Would I buy it again? I like it, but I'm not sure that I would. This seems like more of a once in a while (perhaps a very long while) beer. It's good, but I can't see it become a favourite, and I don't think I could drink very much of it. I haven't got anyone here to split the 650ml bottle with, and that might be a problem.

Appearance. Pours a very hazy straw colour with a small white head.
Smell. Toasty, slightly sour wheat, sweet ripe pineapple and a little peach.
Taste. Sweet and lightly tangy pineapple, some toasted wheat.
Mouthfeel. Slightly syrupy medium body with medium+ carbonation.
Overall. A little bit sweet for me, but tastes pretty nice. I could see lots of people liking this one ... maybe out on a good patio?

The new summer seasonal since the grapefruit beer is in six packs. I love the way that the pineapple is really a big part of the flavour as opposed to the pineapple wheat from Maui Brewing that downplays the fruit. It is not too sweet but rather the pineapple adds an acidic bite to the neuttral wheat base. It works well and makes a great summer brew.
