Better than there other offerings, but not much, a little darker than their other lagers, with a bit more malt. Thats about it though, and the chemically, adjuncty, vomitous flavours are there, watery texture, worse than from a tap, but not much, not a very good holiday seasonal.

Tuborg Christmas Beer has a medium, off-white head and a hazy, amber appearance, with moderate carbonation. The aroma is bready, with lots of maltiness showing up. Taste is likewise bread-oriented, with a little hop spice at the back end of the sip. Mouth-feel is medium, and Tuborg Julebryg finishes refreshing and not too dry. Overall, this is and interesting and very good lager.

(500 ml dark blue plastic bottle, in Denmark.) Brownish golden colour, moderate head. Aroma and flavour like an average pilsener with liqourice added - and that's what it actually is (the label states that liqourice is an ingredient). Compared to the best Norwegian 'klasse F' Christmas beers, this is BAD (well, it's drinkable, but not much more).

This beer is a precise representation of exactly how The CANQuest (TM) should operate - rastapenguin22 scored himself a sixer, checked my list on Google (accessible from my homepage), realized that I had never reviewed it, sent me a feeler BM, we set up a trade and off I go! People, it's just that easy - if it is in a CAN and I have not reviewed it, the odds are in your favor that I want it. Please trade some new CANs with me! It's the easiest thing ever and you will have no regrets.

From the CAN: The graphics were the mirror image of the shrink-wrap 6-pack holder rastapenguin22 also sent me. Thank goodness, as Santa and the sleigh are supposed to be following in the wake of the Tuborg truck, NOT headed for a head-on collision! That would have given me nightmares from which I may not recover. Lotsa Danish on this bad boy: "Glaedelig jul og godt Tub'ar ..."; "Tuborg JULEBRYG fylder 30 Tub'ar ..."; "Scan og spil pakkleg"; "Saml sa mange J-Pakker du KAN. Vind 30,000 Kr. I Kolde Kontanter! Du skal bare hente app'en til Tuborg Julebrygs pakkeleg: Scan koden pa etiketten eller Hent J-pakkeleg i App Store elller Android Market" ("Merry Christmas and Happy New Year ...", "Tuborg Christmas beer turns 30 Years ...", "Scan and games package", "Gather as many J-Packs you CAN. Win £ 30,000 In Cold Cash. You just need to download the app for Tuborg Julebrygs package: Scan code on label or Download J-pakkeleg the App Store or Android Market.)" Contest ended 22 December 2011.

A Rexam CAN, er, KAN, BTW. I had a nice Crack & Glug which produced a finger-and-a-half of rocky, tawny head with moderate retention. Nose was lager-like, clean and pleasantly sweet, but also underlain with a mild spiciness, perhaps cinnamon? Color was a deep orangish-amber with NE-quality clarity. BUPGOO! My first mouthful evinced a beer with medium-to-full mouthfeel and a lager sweetness backed by a woody, spicy character, reinforcing my belief that cinnamon was somehow involved. The finish was very dry, probably from the presence of the spice. I thought that this was quite enjoyable, made all the more so from a KAN, but it would be quickly supplanted if Anchor ever begins CANning their Christmas ale. More damning with faint praise.

E 22-04-06. Nice presentation with nice litle head that stays well and a nice amberbrown beercollor. Nose is full malty, sweetish with hint of spicy hops. Nice nose but quiet mainstream as there is not much else to detect in this brew. Taste is strong malty, litle metallic bitterness that hangs and is moderate. Though good maltyness a brew that hangs more to the dry side and for a big brewery a quiet tasty brew though there are much better strong pilseners/marzen beers. Easy drinking and enjoyable beer.

Pours a little darker and richer than other pale lagers i've had, a dark caramel body and off white head. Minimal lacing that quickly erodes. Smell has a slight spice and caramel maltiness, a tinge of alcohol. Taste is slightly sweet upfront, but gives to a much more bitter aftertaste. Mouthfeel is thin and slightly watery. Fairly drinkable, but there are better euro pale's out there.

This can came from my mom's Danish co-workers who were in town for business at the Bethlehem location of the company. A dark blue can with white dots like snow in a night sky, and Danish stuff on one side, English on the other. The ingredients listed are Water, barley malt, hops, liquorice.

Appearance was blah- poured out a clear amber color with a small white head that fizzles out quickly into just a ring, which lasted. Lots of tiny bubble were rising constantly. Very fizzy.

Smell was sweet. Something I couldn't put my finger on, corn perhaps? and I got an almost honey-nut smell out of it too.

Taste again was sweet, nutty, grainy, with the teeniest hop in the background if I thought about it hard enough, and another sweet flavor I recognised but could not put into words. This is when I saw the ingredient list and thought Yes! Licorice root! That's it! I've chewed on licorice (liquorice) root sticks, and it's a taste you remember. In this beer it almost overpowers. With an overpowering sweetness. Aftertate was slightly metallic, with a pretty dry finish actually, despite all that sickly sweetness.

Mouthfeel was thin and watery and all around fizzy. Drinkability is a 2 here, because of the grainy sweetness. It is not like any other "Christmas" beer I've ever had. No body or warmth. And the taste.. yeesh. I like licorice root but not in my beer. I'd probably get sick if I had more than one glass of this.
