Pours clear, brownish orange, with minimal head. Taste is bread, pale malt, mineral, and faint cinnamon and nutmeg. The pumpkin spice is subtle. The base beer seems like a decent English pale. Overall, I like my pumpkin beers to be a bit more pumpkin forward. This is a pass for the future for me.

Was given this beer from a friend up in Totowa, having never had this before. I am not a huge fan of these beers and even though this wasn't that spicy or heavy, it wasn't enough to win me over to the style either. It was fine by itself and a good take on the style, without having any outstanding qualities about it in particular.

Decent pour to this, with a dark pumpkin hue, moderate head, and some thick and dark sediment floating around in the liquid. Not a strong aroma but the flavors of pumpkin and cinnamon were her along with a hint of vanilla. The same was true in the taste but there wasn't any lingering spiciness and the carbonation was light enough to keep this from getting too thick. The mouthfeel was good with just a slight cloying aspect and some lingering pumpkin pie in the aftertaste.

There was a hint of alcohol in the taste and some slight warming as I had this, but if there was another here, I could have easily polished that off as well. While not a standout beer, this is a good example of what a Pumpkin Ale should be for anyone new to the style. It was fine by itself but not enough to make me miss the recently-departed warmer weather.

Pours dark amber with a wispy thin cover that leaves dotted lacing.

The smell is of pumpkin spicing with English malt and dough.

The taste is of the usual pumpkin spicings - nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, allspice. There is a watery touch in the middle, in which the flavors seem to fade a bit, then return. It is backed by an English pale ale character. Finishes rather abruptly for the style, with just a hint of lingering spicing.

It has a medium body with ample carbonation.

Not a bad pumpkin ale. It has the characteristic spicings without being overwhelming.

Light khaki color head disapears quickly. Dark copper color body. Sporadic bubbles, some tiny some much bigger.

Slight pumpkin and cinnamon but there is a noticeable metalic aroma that meets a yeasty smell.

Wow, wasn't expecting that taste after the aroma. Pumpkin spice all the way -- this tastes like a actual pumpkin pie. Some noticeable hops but is balanced by the sweet cinnamon and pumpkin. There is a bready characteristic at the end with some nuttiness as well. This is a tasty pumpkin ale.

Light to medium body. The carbonation is on the medium side. No alcohol warmth.

If you can get your hands on this Pumpkin Ale give it a shot because The Defiant Brewing Company did a job well done.

Plotted a medium amber hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was decent retention and lacing.

The smell featured a sweet honey like malt with a dusting of allspice.

The taste consisted of sweet soft doughy malts, a rindy pumpkin and a subtle allspice.

The mouthfeel was soft and round with a chewy finish.

Overall a tastyalt driven pumpkin ale.

growler from defiant brewery 9/4/11

Pours a clear orange with a thin white head. Pumpkin flesh, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a bit of clove. Light malt, a bit more spice, and a touch of grain at the back end. Finishes with some more light spice, and a bit more dry grain.
