An unassuming little store with an impressively wide range of beers available - an entire wall of coolers filled with great craft beer from MI, NY and beyond. The staff were quite helpful - they seem to have let the 'no breaking up six-packs' rule slide recently, although I didn't take them up on the offer. The location is also quite convenient for anyone passing over the bridges, as it is literally a minute away from the border.
Be sure to check the packaging/expiry dates, particularly if you're getting a mixed sixer (there is a small fridge at the back for these). I didn't, and wound up with a few very old pale ales - and a few very tasty, aged Belgian ones. Still, it's a great store that I'm sure I'll return to.

Excellent store, friendly staff, great selection in both coolers and on shelves. Tons of Michigan locals to make any Canadian happy (Shorts, Bells, Founders, Dark Horse) Grabbed a sixer of Shorts ControversiALE. Prices seem dead on to what you would expect. Unfortunately by the looks of the shelves they don't break six packs, although with the store being rather tight I can understand why.
The parking lot is a little small but when we got there there was only two or three cars so we found a spot no problem. Will return before heading back to Canada.

Ryan’s is simply a great store to visit for craft beer enthusiast. They stock many local, regional, and international choices. They also have great prices and knowledgeable staff who are more then willing to talk beer with you. I find myself visiting this shop more and more when I cross into the US for shopping.
They carry a great selection of Michigan and American craft beer, and many other of the words best options available. Also recognize repeat customers and reward loyalty and treat their neighbours to the North very well. Solid store and great employees!

Ryan's is a bit of a sleeper..looks like your average neighborhood liquor store..but it is not..at least 8 cooler doors of beer, and a full aisle of it warm..plus a singles/mix a six cooler..very cool..selection is great..Bombers, sixers and singles..imports, and domestics...all pretty well organized and clean..the service is great. it is a busy place.. but the owner/manager makes an effort to answer questions and down right talk beer with you for a while..I love that..and they also seem to be very willing to order or track down any beer you are looking for, available in MI of course..which can be a tough job..prices are more than fair...they also have some beer glasses for sale to all for a fair price..if you find yourself in Port Huron, know that you have a source for good beer here...

I've been stopping at Ryan's Party store about 3 times a year for the past few years, on my way from Canada to friends in East Lansing. Even though its not that often, the owner remembers me and starts a conversation about beer right away.
The selection is great. Belgiums, Michigan, East/West Coast. Lots of one offs and special big bottles.
We often each fill a case for the weekend and the owner adds in a tulip glass or goblet or other glassware. That is awesome as it makes the weekend's beer taste that much sweeter.
The location is great, as we can cross the Canadian border with an empty cooler and fill it right around the corner with beer and ice.
On the way back we stop to get our quota for duty free for the trip home. The owner always gives us his contact info in case we want to call ahead for something special. A nice touch.
One of the benefits of not having much beer selection in Ontario is getting so excited at these well stocked US stores.

From reading past reviews this place seems to be the go to for Canadians crossing the border in the search of great American craft beers. Upon my recent visit I was pleasently surprised. Ryan's has probably the best selection in town and even better selection than some stores searched in a trip to Detroit. Pretty much the whole back side of the store is devoted to beer, Personally I found the selection to be better than that of the close by wolverine market, but not as much singles choice. Every beer I got from there was pretty fresh, none of which being expired like past reviews have stated. Also the service was bar none, A simple question and I was then in a good 10 minute conversation about which beers I liked and suggestions on which ones to get. All in all a solid place to shop for reasonable priced american craft beers, and for us Canadians, it's about 5-10 past the border, now you just gotta get it back over without being taxed to death...

As a Canadian living in nearby Sarnia, Ryan's Party Store has become the go-to place for my friends and I when in search of hard to find world class beers, without the extra weight of Ontario liquor taxes.
Not only is the selection unmatched in our area, but the staff are both helpful and knowledgeable.
Also, in challenge to a few of the previous posts, perhaps an ounce of elementary beer knowledge before typing out a review is necessary. Many beers blossom when cellared. Unlike run of the mill brews that have a 3-6 month self life, beer made with natural ingredients and usually an abv of 9% or higher taste better if they're are enjoyed years after their bottling date.
For example, in 2010, I purchased 2 bottles of Dogfishhead Fort from Ryan's Party Store. One was bottled in 2007, one was bottled in 2010. The verdict? The 2007 was far more complex in taste. Same Beer! 3 years older! Tasted better!
Thanks to Ryan's for making great beer available and for coaching customers and fellow enthusiasts in the art of beer tasting and collecting!

I stopped in here with my girlfriend while doing a cross-border beer run in Port Huron. Quay Street brewpub, Wolverine Market, and Ryan's Party Store are all within a few minutes of each other, so we made a day trip of it and visited all three places.
Ryan's has roughly four times the selection of Wolverine but you have to watch for beers that are out of code and the prices are slightly higher. As examples, the sixers of Stone Pale Ale were best before last month, several Rogue bottles were produced in 2008 and had layers of dust on them, and various bombers were in the double digits price wise. Hence I focused on the fresh and reasonably priced stuff.
Ended up grabbing Sierra Nevada Celebration, Tumbler & Northern Hemisphere, Moylan's IPA, DIPA & Impy Stout, Southern Tier Iniquity, Heavy Weizen & Mokah Stout, a 750 of Saison Dupont, Victory Hop Devil & Storm King Stout, New Holland The Poet, Avery Collaboration & Czar, Lagunitas Maximus & Little Sumpin' Ale, North Coast Old Stock Ale & Old Rasputin, and others that I can't remember. A case and a half of these bottles, several of them bombers, ran me $150 - pretty expensive though not bad considering the caliber of beers.
The staff weren't nearly as friendly as the Wolverine folks but they did give us some empty six packs and a couple 2-4 boxes to carry the beers with. The owner explained to me that they don't break apart six packs because nobody would want the leftover brews. As a result I wasn't able to buy a few bottles that I snagged from sixers but I still managed to get a good haul of decently fresh, world class beer.
Overall, this store has the largest variety in town and it's a very convenient border stop for beer-deprived Ontarians. I will be back for many more beer hauls in the future.

Ryan`s Party Store is a must visit beer run stop for Ontario BAs. Just over the border in Port Huron, easy to find. Its essentially a convenience store with an amazing beer selection. At the back of the store is the coolers stocked full and across the isle is a shelf with more bombers and 6 packs. Great selection, plenty of Michigan locals like Bell`s, Founders & Shorts. Some attention is needed for dating, but if you know your beer releases you`ll be good. I find they have some different stock from the other store in town and thus are an essential stop. One of the highlights worth mentioning is the service; absolutely helpful and accommodating staff.
Downside is not being able to buy singles, they do have a very small mix a 6 fridge that doesn't have many appealing beers. Often find limit of 1 special releases here which is nice as it allows us Canadians a chance to come across limited run beers.
A great destination for American craft beer runs in Port Huron.
