Very well kept store with a great selection of beers. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the place couldn't be any cleaner. The beer selection is excellent, from crafts to imports. Definitely the place if you're looking for a bottle of wine too.

I think they have done a great job expanding their selection since Martignetti's closed, and they also always seem to have some free samples being poured. Last time I was there, Trago tequila (a great new brand) was pouring samples and raffling off a cool gift basket. There aren't any other stores in the area where you can always get something extra for nothing.

Their high end beer selection seems to be growing by the week, and mostly everything they bring in is worth a try.

This store has been gutted and renovated in the last few years and its a lot nicer looking both from the inside and outside than it was a couple years ago. The beer selection has improved quite a bit too.

The beers are divided up almost equally with about 60% being left out at room temperature and the remainder in the coolers. Here are some examples of the better craft beers and imports that I saw on my recent visit: Chimay (most of them), Unibroue (most of them), Allagash (a few different ones), there was an Impy Porter from Sprecher that I hadnt seen before , good prices on Rochefort 6, 8, and 10. They had all the Ommegang stuff and then your standard Sam Adams and Shipyard. They had some Lagunitas red (the one with the dog on the label). For such a small store, the beer selection was surprisingly good. I picked up a 6 pack of something called Woodstock Inn out of NH that I hadnt seen before.

Service was courteous enough but nothing more. The prices were pretty much what you would expect. Not cheap but not really overpriced either. A good addition to the neighborhood.

Update--7/17/08--This is my first time in since Martignettis closed. Beer selection has gone way downhill since the last time I was here. Leinenkugels looks like their new featured brand--gimme a break. At this point, youd be better off hitting Cirace's on Richmond street (although they have terrible store hours) or Golden Goose market (aka golden ripoff--but great hours)if you want beers and are in the north end.

Hopped in here for a mid-day refueling. Lots of area micros billboarded across their cooler fronts. Picking out a couple six-packs presents quite a difficult desicion when you have so many seasonals to choose from, in addition to all the year round brews from all over New England. Prices are very reasonable, which impressed me because on Hanover St. everything else seemed a bit over-priced. Service here is mediocre, your standard corner store clerks, though at least they were amiable and not the uncomfortable stare-at-you-the-whole-time-you're-in-the-store kind of people. A great local place to stop at when you need beer - for any occassion.
