Pours two and half fingers of head on a clear copper colored body.
The aroma is pine at first, then lots of tropical fruit: mango and pineapple. Really nice.
The taste is moderate pine and grapefruit bitterness, with a big malt bill to balance it out nicely.
The texture is crisp with soft and fizzy edges.

22 picked up tonight at Brewforia Meridian for a price $6... It pours a glowing polished orange... 2 finger foamy white head rises up and drops back nearly as quickly... only spotty lacing.
Nose is tropical fruitbowl of melon, citrus zest, something I associate with papaya... light toasty maltiness.
Pithy bitterness from the front to a long lingering finish... the tropical fruit hoppiness shows meshed with a light toasted bread maltiness mid palate and lasts to the finish, but is ultimately blown out by the bitter bite.
Definitely hop centric, but I don't personally think the amber ale qualities jive super well here... but most people will probably like it. I doubt Ninkasi was going for finesse here, and I think they succeeded.

A: More of a light amber look than a red, but nice color. Two finger head.
S: hoppy and balanced with a malt undertone.
T: Grapefruit and grassy upfront, Malt characteristics in the middle (slight biscuit), a touch of bitterness at the end.
M: Very light-bodied and refreshing...a good lawnmower beer.
O: I really enjoyed this one. I don't know if it's like any reds that I would compare to, but it stood on its own very well.

22 oz bottle from "Habits" beer and cig store in S.Salem $3.59 Light amber coloured beer with a nice thick and creamy off white head ( about half an inch). Balanced aroma, deep caramel malts and floral type hops. Taste is also balanced with the juicy hops just winning out. Nice mouth feel medium with good carbonation( soft). A nice enough simple IPA.

22oz : SN IPA Glass
Pours a clear, coppery red with a thick, foamy off white head.
Malty, toffee, biscuit, bready notes well balanced by tropical, fruity, floral hops.
Medium body, foamy carbonation.
Certainly more malt balanced than an IPA, though with still a sufficient, tasty hoppy balance.
