Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a lightly hazed golden color with a small fizzy white head. The head has a weak retention with it fading fast to leave a light level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The smell of this one is almost non-existent with just the slightest hint of a bready and yeasty smell with a faint whiff of lemon.
Taste – The taste begins with a dry and crisp cracker flavor with just a hint of caramel sweetness. The caramel fades rather rapidly as the taste advances with it gone by the middle of the flavor. After the initial tastes some flavors of a light hay-like and grassy flavor with a hint of grain come to the tongue. The hay and grass get stronger toward the end of the taste with some flavors of an earthy flavor coming to the profile as well. A tiny bit of a lemongrass flavor works its way into the taste over the whole flavor experience as well, leaving a crisp and rather dry taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the average side in terms of its thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is on the slightly more effervescent side. Both the moderate body and higher carbonation are good for the crisp and refreshing drier tastes of the brew as they make for a very easy drinker.
Overall – A crisp and rather clean tasting brew with a good refreshing character. Not a super flavor powerhouse, but a rather easy drinker overall.

Pours a half finger of head on a clear golden colored body.
The aroma is bready and dry grain.
The taste has a strong dry bitterness, hint of lemon and a little metallic. Dry finish.
The texture is crisp with moderate carbonation.
It hits the pils style pretty hard on the bitterness... maybe too much for some. Still any enjoyable drink.

I had this in a borrowed pilsener glass.
The appearance was a semi - clear slight golden yellow color with a decent transparency about it. Streams of carbonation were seen rising. There was a two finger soft white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute leaving some light lacing sticking and sliding here and there.
The smell was slightly grainy with a decent grassy hay - like aroma.
The taste was mainly sweet and grainy with a decent balance of a light biscuity flavor.
The mouthfeel was somewhat crisp and sweet. It was about a light on the body.
Overall, this was a pretty good Pilsener made by one of my favorite beer companies.

Gold, translucent, good sized head. Smells faintly spicy with strong pineapple notes, hint of corn. Taste is sweet and bready with a dry, spicy/floral finish. Bitterness really lingers on the tongue awhile--might even be a bit much for me, but it's still a great beer.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a light straw amber with a thin white head that dissipates to a ring around the glass. Aroma of sweet bready malt and grassy hops with a hint of skunk when opening the bottle (oddly mimicing many Czech pilsners in green bottles). Flavor is dry biscuit malt, grassy hops, finishing with the same flavors, nicely balanced and a lingering hop bitterness. Light to medium bodied. A flavorful pilsner that makes me wish I could taste a Czech one fresh instead of months later out of inappropriate bottles. Nicely done and tasty. Good authentic tasting hops.

12oz : flute
Clear, golden yellow with a foamy, bubbly thick white head.
Grassy, herbal, floral, biscuit backbone.
Crackery malts, grassy, spicy Noble bop character.
Medium body, fizzy foamy carbonation, lightly crisp finish.
A very well done Czech Pilsner. Very easy drinking, but with a layered flavor profile if one decides to take the time to appreciate it.

While I'm not a fan of Ninkasi's IPA's and Stouts, I have been presently surprised by their Prismatic Lager series. Is Oregon the New World paragon of German brewing?
A: Pours slightly dark of straw but not quite to golden. Finger and a half of whispy white head. Fairly large bubbles, with moderate retention. Lacing is stellar. Carbonation is lively and vigorous.
S: Slightly sweet grain. Almost like husked barley. Some straw, some definite noble spiciness. Small bits of green apple. Bready, sweet cracker like undertone. Slight diacetyl.
T: Slightly sweet green fruit up front. Hit pretty immediately with a zesty hop bitterness. This isn't citric. It is floral, herbal and spicy. Very hoppy for the style. Some grain pokes through mid palate, but it's by and large a spicy showing of hops. Bitterness reaches a floral astringency in end. Finishes very dry, with light pear/apple skin and a remaining perfume like bitterness.
M: Pleasently light on the tongue. Carbonation is invigorating. Bubbles feel appropriately small.
O: Another quality offering from Ninkasi. The beer is slightly off in the nose and the hop bitterness may be a bit much for some, but I really like the intensity.

12oz picked up at the Vista Brewer's Haven late Friday.. Enjoyed tonight.. pours a nearly perfectly clear straw golden.. good retention and spotty white lacing.
Nose is "American" ... as in "BIG Americanized" Czech Pils... BIG fresh floral hoppiness and a BIG balanced pils maltiness..
Great bitterness shows up front and then moves toward the finish.. in between, the floral/spicy hops really fly.. Malts are surprisingly spot-on.. I don't think a decoction was used, but they still hit the malt profile nearly perfectly.
Very drinkable.. crisp and well defined.. Loving how fresh this is... I will drink this again and again until the bottles go away.

A - poured to a pilsner glass. Golden straw in color. 1 finger head. (Head still there at the completion of drinking the beer) Cloudy but in an appealing fashion
S- again an appealing nose. Fragrant not subtle. Banana, pineapple, bubblegum, apple
T- full of flavor. A nice apple start, mellows to a nice malt and a sharper hoppy finish. A great balance of flavor
M- light body, light to medium carbonation, dry crisp finish
O- I was exited over this beer. I've been on a quest for a solid pilsner. This is by far ahead of the pack so far. Must try for a pils drinker

Pours a yellow straw color with very little head
Smell is of wet horse blanket, crisp fresh grains, and light hop aromas.
Taste is very crisp and light with a nice bitterness that lasts throughout. Kind of like a budweiser without the rice and corn, and with more bittering hops. Bordering on spicy from the hops. This is the way I like pils to be, they shouldn't have the silly little sweet flavors and adjuncts that most do. Light , refreshing and barley only.
Feel is decent carb and a crisp bite to it.
One of the better pils I've had in a while. Its up there with Scrimshaw I think, I will buy this again.

Pours a hazy yellow with a foamy bone head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, and grass aromas. Taste is much the same with grain and grass flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with tasty flavors and a crispness that makes this one very easy to drink.
