The Willamette National Forest, our brewery’s backyard, is notorious for Bigfoot sightings. We’ve yet to see one, but if we did we’d offer it a Total Dom, a wild IPA that hits you like a mountain thunderstorm. It’s a sweet, piney hop encounter you won’t forget. Real or not, it’s good to know that if Bigfoot does exist, this is where it would call.

Tasting Notes: Total Domination IPA has a citrusy, floral hop aroma, and big hop flavor balanced with a richness imparted by Carahell and Munich malts. This beer is a big, flavorful Northwest IPA that maintains its drinkability, and as such, has garnered great admiration from the novice craft drinker and the seasoned hop-head alike.

Food Pairings: Poultry, Seafood, Sharp Cheeses, Spicy Mexican or Thai Foods.
Malts: 2-Row Pale, Munich, Carahell
Hops: Summit, Amarillo, Crystal
IBU: 81

Significant hop flavor, but nicely balanced with an almost "grassy" undertone. Nice PNW IPA.

I have loved this beer for years, it’s bitter taste is exactly what I want from an IPA. Definitely not something fruity tasting. This beer is fantastic.

This has been around for a while and it still holds up. Its a West coast style IPA; crafted before the juice craze. Its a bit bitter/sour but otherwise goes down smooth.

Way too aggressively hopped. Can’t get the bitterness out of my mouth. Maybe the only flaw, but it’s a big flaw, in my opinion.

Look: Slightly opaque burnt orange with a quick-forming white head that rapidly settles to a lid, leaving good lacing behind
Aroma: Orange, grapefruit, pine, raw bread dough, lemon, freshly baked bread, and light berry notes
Taste: A huge pithy but slightly sweet citrus fruit bomb starts things off and quickly joined by some moderately strong cane berry notes and pine. Lots of bready malt make their presence known before pine and citrus reconvene for the finish along with a good bite
Mouthfeel: Full, medium-high carbonation, fairly clean feeling throughout, and moderate dryness on the finish
Overall: I dig it. I’ve always liked this beer and even picked it in my top three in a blind IPA taste-off my brother, dad, and I did a few years ago and did so for the same reason my family didn’t – its dryness. I like my WCIPA’s a touch dry and this one has that aspect to it. A solid malt base, and good citrus, pine, and berry flavors/aromas make this one of my go-to’s when I need a hop fix. Solid and recommended

Poured from can with enjoy by date, 12/11/20. CLaims to be for mountainclimbers. A Northwest American IPA

L: A medium to pale amber, srm 6-9, slight haze and a fluffy inch head well retained forms at the top. Few bubble fizzing inside. Look is promisng.

S: Light lemon masked by pines, notes of myrcene. As if bigfoot were spring cleaning its cave.

T: Diversified citrus on the palette, then peppery. Floral notes finished by a big wash of bitterness across the whole tongue (81ibu).

F: Actually feels quite smooth, almost velvety until the end when it is overridden by bitterness leaving the mouth drier. The juiciness is soft, like a blanket on the tongue.

Total Domination represents the Northwest IPA scene very well, as I live in the region and ninsaki is quite common. The elements of citrus and pine are true to their style, but lemon is more pronounced here. I was surprised at the strength of pepper on the nose and palette. For the high bitterness the mouthfeel was impressively soft, its most redeeming quality. I'd say it is a better Northwest IPA, but not as fantastic when ranked next to all APAs.
