22oz bottle poured into a globe.

A: Amber in color with a deep orange hue. Clarity is good. One finger of white head settles after a short time. Delicate rings of lacing are left on the glass.

S: Tropical and floral scents. Wildflowers, lots of pineapple juice, starfruit, mango, and mandarin orange. Melon rind. Broken pine needles. Doughy malt base with a touch of honeyed granola. A vibrant and playful nose that suggests a relatively tame bitterness.

T: The nose fibs, bitterness is quite substantial. Pine resin, soapy and even a bit catty and oniony. The more playful fruity notes lie underneath the impressive bitterness. Pineapple, mandarin orange, and starfruit. Smashed mango. Doughy and honeyed ,malt base comes through toward the end. A smidgen of alcohol and tropical esters break through very briefly. Tropical hop tastes are played up on the finish as the bitterness fades.

M: Fairly light in body for the style. Creamy, but almost a bit watery as well. A refreshing blast of carbonation holds it all together.

O: Hop bitterness and flavor are nice enough, but it lacks a little something in body. It's a trade off though: the lighter body takes away a little something, but it does add to the drinkability. This is a dangerously easy beer to put back after a long workout, as I just did.

Poured a dark caramel amber color with 1-2 fingers of off-white head. Sporadic foamy lacing on the sides. Average retention on the top.

Smelled lime, pine, Cascade hops, lemon and citrus hops.

Tasted similar to the nose. Lime, pine, smooth and citrus hops. Alcohol is very well-hidden. Nice and smooth.

Medium body. Thin-to-oily texture. Average carbonation. Smooth finish.

This beer really grew on me. Very sooth for a DIPA.
