Served on tap into chalice
A: Dark caramel head on molases colored body, foam doesn,t hold
S: Toasted hickory and marshmallow root
T: Roasted dark malts, hickory, with a very persistant but non intrusive bitterness, which is more like espresso Turkish style with cardomon rather than hops. Some toast.
M: Holds up as a fairly heavy bodied beer.
D: Yes for sure, but not every day.
Serving type: on-tap

Appearance: Pours pitch black with a nice bubble show; excellent retention at two inches with a nice coating a lace, to boot
Smell: Roasty tones, with chocolate fudge and hints of caramel, coffee and herbal/piney hops
Taste: The roasted tones and chocolate dominate the front end, with hints of caramel and coffee; by mid-palate, the herbal, slightly piney hops build; nicely balanced with rich flavors, in the finish
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body; somewhat creamy, with moderate carbonation
Overall: This is a really nice oatmeal stout; well-balanced and quite enjoyable
Thanks, mabermud, for the opportunity

This beer pours a super dark brown with a beige foamy head that soon after disappears. There is light lacing that are left behind as the beer is swirled around the glass. The smell is of roasted malts and oatmeal with faint chocolate and coffee. Nothing too strong or overpowering. The taste is similar to the smell, but there is a discernible hop taste in this one. The mouthfeel is smooth and somewhat creamy. Carbonation fits this medium bodied stout just right
Overall, this was a pleasant surprise. This is a lighter in taste, balanced stout, with great drinkability. Simple, not very assertive, more on the subtle side, which fits on most days.
