Only the second Ninkasi beer I have actually had,the Tricerahops was quite good.Poured into an imperial pint glass a lemony yellow with a tinge of orange, a creamy-like one finger white head that held thru to the finish.West coast hop aromas here, citrusy and piney, lesser grass, and herbal hops.A great summer IPA to be had,its citrusy with leafy/green hop flavors over top of a lightly sweet toasty malt base. This is it,a IPA for the summer, its refreshing and has a badass hopkick, its worth the high rating.Hell yeah!

Gotta love the hop burps! (545 characters)

Nice brassy pour into tulip. Nice head retains well, nice lace. First impression was typical Ninkasi citrus tartness a little too bitter on the front end. However, it grows on me as it warms - and I warm to drinking it.
A very fun beer that went down extremely well. Strong hop feel would overwhelm after a while so a session beer it ain't. (341 characters)

Looked a vibrant yellow and tangerine color, foamed up quite nice, this was a looker. Aroma, seemed to be big on amarillo and simcoe. Very pungent, really came through on the nose.

Taste wasn't a letdown at all, all that dry, astringent hopfeel came through, but didn't leave a super bitter mouthfeel, just the right balance between a big fresh floral hop mouthfeel and a good amount of bitterness that made you want more, rather than take a second or some water to clear the palate. Far more depth to it than your average ipa. Says 72 ibu, but the bitterness just plays so nice. It combines to leave a good lip smack sensation, good tang. Mostly tangerine, then grapefruit, even the slightest amount of tropical citrus feel, although I wouldn't necessarily call it pineapple (especially after drinking Oracle and Hopsoulution a lot lately), or if I did, I'd say its very slight.

Very drinkable, and that's even before considering that this is a $5 bomber. Kudos, Ninkasi has done it again. Would be very interested to see if we ever get some of their ipas in 4/6 packs in the future. (1,087 characters)

22oz bottle. For some reason, every time I had heard about this brew up until now, I thought it was an Iron Maiden tribute, but maybe I was just naively (or lazily) swayed by their Sleigh'r offering.

This beer pours a hazy, medium golden yellow colour, with two fingers of puffy, densely frothy, and mildly rocky ecru head, which leaves some spackled snow rime lace around the glass as it gently blows off.

It smells of musty, kind of dank pine resin, muted citrus pith, bready and doughy caramel malt, further grassy, herbal, and leafy hops, and a softly lilting alcohol edginess. The taste is grainy, bready caramel malt, much less dank in their general bearing pine and earthy forest floor detritus, still muffled citrus rind fruit esters, and more mildly herbal, leafy, and fresh-cut grassy hops - summery? Sure, why not?

The bubbles are rather heady and active throughout, what with their steady and sturdy frothiness, the body a dense middleweight, and actually smooth, the hops having left early, because, y'know, it's Friday afternoon on a summer long weekend, or something. It finishes off-dry, the malt not about to let these laid-back, hammock-humping hops to have all the fun, no sirree!

I have to say, when a seasonal is released by a brewery, without any tangible ingredients that would justify it as such, I get weary and wary. Turns out I didn't have to expend that sort of negative energy here, since after only a few ounces, I was hooked on the fresh, fruity, and yet still duly bitter nature of this IPA's gross hopitude. Yeah - sun and shade friendly, fo sho. (1,589 characters)

Pours a light gold, opaque, thick head. Excellent lacing. Aroma of citrus, pine, taste is deeply hoppy but complex, citrus, pine, wheat, and with a well integrated undercurrent of sweetness. This is a really nice IPA, hope Ninkasi keeps it going. This is a hop bomb for sure but has the requisite complexity and, well, good integration of other flavors to be a very worthy brew. (378 characters)

Excellent bomber of 72 IBU, like a 1.5X IPA. Very flavourful citrus that is a bit of a palate shredder and a great hophead delivery. Above average mouthfeel, and good hop aroma. Great drinkability.Peach coloured body with nice retained white whip of a head.

Poured from a 22oz bomber into my Dogfish Head shaped pint glass.

Carrot orange, orange peel, amber, and gold blend together in a cloudy gradient, topped by a perpetual fist of ivory stiff-peak foam. Dense soapy lacing coats the glass.

Seven different varieties of hops went into this resulting in an intensely aromatic melange - as soon as you pop the cap, the air fills with floral, citrus, and light herbal and tropical notes. Held closer to the nose, there is a touch of green grapes, pink peppercorn, Fruit Loops, and more. Superlative. It gets just a tiny bit catty as it warms, kepping it just a step away from perfection really...

Spicy and bright palate entry - packed with grapefruit, orange, and persimmon flavor among so many other things...yet the blend really works as a whole. The finish is increasingly spicy with hints of cinnamon and fennel. Dry, moderately bitter throughout, with a delicate not-quite sweet maltiness for balance. Delicious.

Well carbonated, medium-light bodied, creamy, yet crisp. Zesty mouthfeel with just a touch of warmth to slow you down.

One of the best IPAs I've had in recent memory from the NW...and a good value to boot. (1,174 characters)
