This is my second beer from this brewery. I was glad to see it among the options at the Biter Creek Ale House in Boise. Served in a modified strange, the beer hazy red with a beige head. Impressive lacing!

Nose of malts, spice (pepper) and floral notes.

The beer is slightly bitter with pine notes, grains, green apple. Very tasty and sessionable at 5.2%.

The mouth is very crisp. This beer hit all the right notes for me.

A: Reddish dark black coffee color
S: Nothing to report here, smells like beer
Taste: Smooth, alcoholic, burnt chocolate flavor, light, nice porter. Overall pretty good. I had one when this beer came out in January and it was not good at all... four months later it has mellowed out really well.
M: Alcoholic but smooth
Overall: Back in January I would have panned this beer, but four months in the bottle and now I think it is a solid porter. Nothing amazing, but quite good. Overall: worth picking up.

Favorite beers (for comparison, after all taste preferences are subjective): Elysian's Daedalus Irish Stout, Rogue's Hazelnut Brown Nectar, Allagash's White Ale, New Belgium's 1554, Full Sail's Wassail, etc. Beers I don't like: IPAs (with few exceptions)

Picked up a bomber from BevMo in early October for $3.99.

Beer poured a reddish brown with a solid off white head that is leaving lacing behind.

Nose is of light malts and not much else.

Taste is slightly toasted malts balanced nicely by a nice dry hop.

Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and decently carbonated.

Overall a pretty decent for the style. Nothing overly exciting but fills the bill nicely on a post Tuesday workday!

Appearance is a reddish amber with a nice head that sticks around awhile leaving a nice lace. Smell has a light sourness, honey, malt and hop. Taste has a lightly sweet bitter maltiness that seems a bit watered down and not too exited about the end finish. Mouthfeel is light-medium with good carbonation. An example that looks aren't everything.

Coppery, rusty color with nice clarity. One finger head thins out pretty quickly. Collar retention of loose bubbles. some splotchy lace; not too much of it.

Aromas of caramel, toasted sugars and such. Very even-keeled with some floral overtones. Bready; hints of yeast and dough. Tastes surprisingly dry throughout. Strangely enough, the caramel is right in line with the dryness. Really dry, earthy hop notions. Finishes comparably dry and quite bitter. Medium body, low carbonation. Grainy. Vapid kind of finish. Feels weird.

It's ok; I like that it isn't much for sweetness. Other than that I find it of the bland order.
