A: Opaque grapefruit color with a tan head.

S: Grapefruit and orange peels, orange and pine in the nose.

T: A bit sweet in general, but very sweet for a DIPA. Orange, tangerine, mango, papaya, lemon, lime and tropical fruit. Delicious!

M: Medium bodied and tingly, but not too harsh on the carbonation.

O: Underrated, and yet another excellent IPA from Ninkasi. Definitely recommended. I love the tropical flavors, tangerine and mango.

A different take on the DIPA with the English slant of using Fuggles. This is still a huge DIPA with a 100 IBUs and over 9% ABV. It takes a few minutes to notice the subtle smoother mouthfeel and finish that separates it from the pure PNW style DIPAs. I really like the drink ability of this beer but also appreciated the Over the top notes that this style deserves.

Bomber into standard american shaker pint.

A: somewhat rough pour nets small but beautiful frothy Dial hand soap colored head. Head fell to a lovley cap of tiny bubbles and a thick ring around the glass. Slightly cloudy deep golden straw hue. The cloudyness might be chill haze however.

S: a bit stuffed up but here goes nothing. Big citrusy hops and a hint of sweetness shine through most. Other than that some of the complexities are lost on my stuffy nose.

T: rich sweet double golden body with a hit of citrus hops and closing with a soft bitter note that rides for a while. The body of this brew is fantastic, like some of the better belgian strong goldens and dubbles but without the belgian yeast character. The hops come in just right to balance and don't overwhelm like Ninkasi is known for.

M: heavy and sweet up front almost like a barleywine but finishes dry becsuse of the huge hopping. Smooth too.

O: excellent brew and I am not an IPA fan. But DIPA are almost a whole different animal and this is a grest one. I would get it again and I am a stout drinker.

Poured from bottle into SN/DFH Collab glass.
Beautiful. Abundant head retains well.
Aroma nothing to sniff at. Literally. A little weak here. Couldn't pick up much of anything.
Taste another matter. Nice balance of fruity taste from Fuggle hops and barley? So they say.
IBU claimed at 100+ but it's way more balanced than that. Doesn't strike me as a hop bomb which in this case is a good thing. Maybe because it's lacking the bitterness.
Taste lingers in the mouthfeel adding to the enjoyment.
I think this is a home run. Enjoyed immensely.
