A: Opaque grapefruit color with a tan head.
S: Grapefruit and orange peels, orange and pine in the nose.
T: A bit sweet in general, but very sweet for a DIPA. Orange, tangerine, mango, papaya, lemon, lime and tropical fruit. Delicious!
M: Medium bodied and tingly, but not too harsh on the carbonation.
O: Underrated, and yet another excellent IPA from Ninkasi. Definitely recommended. I love the tropical flavors, tangerine and mango.

color is almost perfect deep clear amber. solid head goes to a tenacious bit in the middle, leaves good rings of lace. nose is a tad soft, citrus, grassy, hops and malt. taste - a bit sweet but i like what they did here. feel is just barely thick, but i'd like to see it increased just a smidge. would like a bit more oily presence than what is here. seems to lose its carbonation early. 100 ibu's balanced with a sweetness of malt and something almost honey-like. very drinkable, yet ya gotta be careful with the well hidden abv. nicest ninkasi brew i've had.

From a bomber. Clear amber with a huge off white head that lasts a good five minutes. Lacing is good but not great.
Smell is dank.
Taste is malty sweet with the big hops expected but trailing all the way.
Mouthfeel is very close to Barleywine style. Carbonation is just right.
Overall they could cut the malts or sugars back, bump up the hops a bit and have a fine DIPA with a much lower abv. I did not find the alcohol too prominent in the flavor but the sweetness of this beer was too much for me.

Poured from bottle into SN/DFH Collab glass.
Beautiful. Abundant head retains well.
Aroma nothing to sniff at. Literally. A little weak here. Couldn't pick up much of anything.
Taste another matter. Nice balance of fruity taste from Fuggle hops and barley? So they say.
IBU claimed at 100+ but it's way more balanced than that. Doesn't strike me as a hop bomb which in this case is a good thing. Maybe because it's lacking the bitterness.
Taste lingers in the mouthfeel adding to the enjoyment.
I think this is a home run. Enjoyed immensely.

My Wife brought this home from the grocery store.
Poured from a 22oz. Bomber into vintage beer mug.
Nice coppery/burnt orange w/ a bit of haze. At 50 degrees it had a nice soapy head which dissipated to quickly.
Not much of a distinctive aroma , maybe a biscuit with orange marmalade
The taste reminded me of the smell, l bready, orangey with maybe some lemon, it seemed pretty balanced, maybe a bit to much. I found it a little to sweet for me, but very drinkable.
Mouthfeel was good, a medium body with a lingering flavor on the tongue. The alcohol in the brew was very well masked.
Overall, I kinda liked it. Would I buy it again? Possibly. Would I search it out? Probably not. I'm still not sure if the DIPA fits.
I enjoy Ninkasi's Tricerahops a bit more.
