I visited this shop once. As a home brew ingredient supplier, I would rate this shop as awesome. I went in to ask for an ale kit, and the owner assembled it fresh in about five minutes, with brewing instructions. Malt extracts, whole grain, Irish moss, hops, and yeast, all well packaged and clearly labeled. The take-home kit supplies were fresh and delicious. Very mellow proprietor. The brew-on-premises smelled great, and is a really good value for the quality and quantity.

Visited the store again recently in the early evening for an ale kit. A group was bottling and labeling their completed brew, so I saw more of the equipment in use. Bustling, clean, well laid out, and the customers and staff were good-natured and having a good time.

A fun place providing a good brewing and supplies experience.

Great place to brew beer.
I have brewed there and we all had a great time brewing and sharing brews. They have a top notch equipment and a great staff- friendly & knowledgeable. It is great community of brewers and drinkers. I would highly recommend this place. Dan is the owner and he easy to work with and really knows beer.

I have brewed at Barleycorns three times, making a Porter, an IPA and a clone of Sierra Nevada's Celebration Ale just a few weeks ago. Each Time the beer has come out extremely well and excellent tasting. The employees, especially Dan, are very knowledgeable, helpful and accommodating.
The only downside of Barleycorns is the bottling machines; they are very finicky and many times fail to fill up the bottle on the first attempt, greatly slowing down the process. I have not been to any other brew on premise places but I would definitely recommend this place and cannot wait to go back.

I love Barleycorn's. Everyone is super friendly and enthusiastic about brewing. They always want to know what you are brewing and will offer tips.

Prices are reasonable and if they don't have what you need in stock they will order it.

Need your bottles cleaned? You can do that.

Want to brew on site? You can do that.

Want to brew at home? You can pick up a kit or get all your ingredients individually right here.

Need a little brewing advice? They can help.

Every time I drop in I make sure to grab a copy of the Yankee Brew News.

Just finished my first brew at this establishment. I would have to say that my overall experiance was very positive.

The staff know what they are doing and are generally on top of things.

I brewed a best bitter and am very happy with the result. The atmosphere was all about the beer. From the smell of the place to the down times in the process when you can relax and sample what others have brewed.

My only critisisms of the place are the tempromental bottle fillers and that I think the place is due for a good spring cleaning.

I will be back.

Went in here for noob supplies over the weekend. I am reviewing this as a supply store rather than a BOP because that was the purpose of my visits.

The quality of ingredients seems to be very good - fresh pellet hops with a good selection of dry and liquid yeast. Malts are plentiful, with extract available fresh out of the tank.

Service was solid - a little slow one time because a boatload of BOP customers were there, but that's their bread and butter so I won't fault that. Quite knowledgeable.

Prices aren't bad for the area and it's a close drive so I would return for hop pellets and malts especially. Decent stop.

I got a gift certificate for my anniversary from my wife last year so i popped in. Ironically, I had been living in Natick for about 2 years and didn't even know it existed. It is located on a tiny side street in downtown Natick. The selection of beers to brew was great. I brewed in the summer (when the owner is on vacation) and the staff didn't have much experience, but surprising did a great job and was able to explain a lot to me during the process. The beer came out ok. nothing earth shattering, but for the money it was well worth it. I would definitely go back!

Went to this place on a whim to get homebrew ingredients after picking the wife up during a marathon training run (don't they say opposites attract?) The owner, Dan, provided us a with a list of recipes, we chose two, then HE picked out everything (weighed the malts, extracts, and hops) and handed it to us shortly thereafter. While i am not always fond of pelletized hops, which is only what he had, we have had decent enough results with them. This is my one complaint. The prices for our supplies were much cheaper than other places in the Boston metro area, which means more affordable brews for us. We were lucky to not need any other equipment as that does not appear to be this place's specialty (why should it it is a BOP afterall). Someday i hope to convince some friends to take advantage of the "BrewFest" option and spare my brew-buddy's wife the mess at home.
