Very helpful staff, visit was on a Sunday their A/C and internet were out but the beer was cold. They offered to order anything i wanted that they didnt have, said it would be about 2 days for it come from the wholesaler. Had Ommegang 4 packs which i had never seen before. Had a fairly good selection of kegs. Prices were reasonable due to convenience of being the only beer store on the island with good selection. Great find while on a week long vacation away from my normal shops and bars. also had a small selection of glassware.

We went to the Turtle Hospital and the Crab Shack up the street, so we decided to stop in while we were in the area.

The people seemed nice enough but were too involved with whatever they were doing to actually spend a second to talk to us, it wasn't very busy, but we were left to our own devices.

They have a bunch of taps, carrying generally available beers. There were a couple of interesting things in the coolers but they were tourist trap priced. We spent about 30 minutes looking around for anything sanely priced that was decent and then moved on back to Wilmington, after grabbing some ice cream next door.

Unless they have something amazing available the next time we are in the area, we will most likely stick to the Wilmington bottle shops.

Very good selection of beer, espically for being in topsail island! i love this place and it is a great environment! the beer shop has been open longer than i have been able to drink and is still going strong! they do have beer tasting, however you can only drink wine on their beautiful deck not beer. The store owners are a pleasure to speak to and the wife is very friendly. make sure to stop by and check this place out.

Now that you can get some good local bottles at the supermarket in the area, this place is struggling. However, vacationing from the beer rich north, I continue to be surprised by the fine options in this little store. The owner-operator knows his beer and invests in terrific and unusual beers.

Picked up a fine Kolsch from Mother Earth Brewing made right in Kinston (down the road), an killer IPA from Aviator (NC, too!) and an unusual can of Mexican Logger from Endless River in Durango, along with many other delicious examples.

Not too many years ago, you were stuck with Bud in this neck of the woods. So delighted to find this great store right on Topsail Island!

A very chill local spot, the guys who run this place are beer and wine enthusiast and always are getting new stuff in. The peopke you will meet here are always friendly and this shop attracts a cool crowd. You can buy beer by the bottle and sit down and drink, or grab a pack mixed or fixed and be on your way. They host frequent tastings and host a brew club. The establishment can be hard to miss as it is a smaller place and is nestled in the corner so to speak of the building it shares with a few other businesses.I will miss this place when I leave here.

was mos def the jewel found in the rough of our vacation. Very courteous service. Sat and talked with the owners (whole family present) and talked it up with the own (Jeff?). Had a great time. The wife and I asked for a good place to drink beer and the best words were heard "you can ""sample" here"" So basically, we were able to pick the beers out of the cooler, pay for them, and sit back and watch the subway series at a very comfy tab with several chairs. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, just exactly what the DR. ordered.
My advice, if you are in the area, you are a fool to not check this place out.

Great place, we frequented it during our stay in Surf City on Topsail Island this fall. The brothers are definitely beer-fanatics, widely knowledgeable and also very interested in hearing about what they don't know.

We found beers there that we couldn't find in our regular and outstanding beer-savvy haunts in Maryland.

Prices seem pretty comparable to most of our savvy beer-sellers back home.

They had some interesting beer paraphenalia, glasses etc too. If you're into wine, they have an interesting and wine-savvy assortment as well.

If you can't find the place, ask where the Dairy Queen is (it's on the left side of the Wings beach-store) and it's to the left. Please drink wisely and don't grab a banana split when you're headed home!

Good place, of the "last good beer before the bridge" type on Topsail Island. Recently changed hands, new owners have continued the good selection and service that Pete used to provide. Can't taste beers here, but they have a few tables, chairs & umbrellas out front, so if a beer happens to accidentally open, you can accidentally drink it. Small selection of glasses. Some good finds, including Founders Breakfast and Mikkeller BGB Weasel. Will order stuff if they dom't have it on hand.

Best spot on Topsail Island for craft beer. Small but good selection with beers from Stone, Bear Republic, Left Hand, etc. Knowledgeable staff who clearly enjoy their beer. Prices are what you'd expect for good beer, got a bomber of Stone IPA for 4.99, 4 pack of DFH Punkin Ale for 14.00. Very receptive to suggestions for new beers to stock. A little difficult to find since they're in the middle of a name change and don't have the new sign up yet. They're next to the DQ by the intersection of 210 and 50 in Surf City. Highly recommended.

I live in Jacksonville, NC and have been trying to find out where different places to get a good selection of beer from. I saw found this place because of beeradvocate. When I got down there i was not dissapointed. They had all different types of beer. The guy working there was very helpful on helping me and my friend pick out different beers we have not tried. I found with the Duck-Rabbit beer milk stout and was glad I went with it.That place was worth the little drive and will definatly be going there to find and try out new beers.

What a find! Although I have been to Topsail Beach many times it has been a few years since my last visit and I was pleasantly surprised to find a single review of this place on Beeradvocate.
They have a wide selection of micros from across the country, including some hard to find items as well.
I was excited to find Oscar Blues, "Dale's Pale Ale" and "Old Chub" which are not available in Ohio. I also picked up some 2007 Bigfoot which vanished here long ago.
The owner, Pete, is very helpful, knowledgeable, and excited about selling you good beer.
If you are ever in the area this is the place to visit for good brew. You won't be disappointed.

I have been here countless times and will keep going back. Lighthouse has a great selection and terrific service. They advertise over 300 beers. That is definitly true. Pete, the owner, is always behind the counter. His dog Nellie sits "guarding" the door. Exceptional service and very enthusiastic. They run some good specials from time to time as well. I picked up a case of 16oz Young's Winter Warmer for $9.99. I buy my kegs here all the time. If I put the order in on Friday he gets it by Monday evening. Great selection of kegs to choose from.
