Amazing beer selection in a tiny Foodtown Express supermarket (about half the size of your average CVS).

The selctions is great. Tons of six packs, brewery mixed 12 packs, 22ouncers, etc.

Usually pretty fresh stock. If its getting old they discount it. Lots of the bottles sit out under the store lights, but thats most places nowadays.

I used to see the beer manager there all the time but have not seen him in ages. Not sure if he works days now? So I am not sure if anyone there knows much abotu the beer. But it seems to move in and out fairly quickly.

This run-of-the-mill supermarket is very unassuming when you walk in, but it has a surprisingly great selection of beers. You have to visit regularly to find the hard to get beers (I picked up some Rodenbach Caractere Rouge recently).

It's definitely worth a visit in your in the area.

The hidden jewel in Yonkers' beer scene! This tiny & outwardly-unimpressive little supermarket store has an outstanding selection of beers. They had multiple bottles of some beers other places never, ever even have in stock! Refrigerated/Non, domestic, import, upscale, common, craft, seasonals, they have an excellent selection. This is my failsafe destination, when I need to stock up quickly (15mins away!), and want the best range to choose from.

The store itself is cramped & small, but that doesn't matter once you see all those varieties of beer!

Excellent selection. Many types & breweries represented, and reasonable prices.

A quaint little chain supermarket nestled right in suburban Yonkers, it doesn't look like it should carry a good selection of craft beers, but it does. The inside is a bit on the cramped side of cozy, but passage through the aisles is easy enough (though I wonder just how one is supposed to navigate a cart through them).

I actually discovered the beer section by spotting the giant bottle of Duvel jutting out from the top of the aisle. It isn't all that large, but it's got a good amount of variety to it. Standard BMC ick, along with some choice craft offerings. I saw a lot of stuff from The Bruery, Lagunitas, Stone, Anchor, Brooklyn, Sam Adams along with select brews from Ommegang, Dogfish Head, Sam Smith's, Young's and Ayingers. There were also gift sets of Chimay ales (complete with goblet). Prices were reasonable, nothing too exorbitant. That big ol' bottle of Duvel was $42.99 though, and I wasn't about to splurge on that. Owing to the smallish size of the store, the open freezer kept everything cold, even the stuff on the standalone racks. Everything I saw was relatively fresh, so that was a good sign.

I went in the late morning, so there weren't too many people around and I was pretty much alone to browse in the store. When I went up to the register with my purchases, the cashier was polite and courteous enough.

A nice little store overall with a fairly decent selection of good craft brews. If I'm ever through the area again, I'd definitely stop by and pick up a few bottles of something good.

I can't imagine living in North Yonkers for almost my entire life and not knowing about this place. In all fairness, for all my life this store was a mom and pop grocery called Barca Brothers and it wasn't until recently (last 2 or 3 years) that it became a foodtown. I never did any shopping their and it was not until reading BA that I became aware of there beer selection.

The store is small and clean. The beer area isn't huge, but for a small supermarket it was very impressive. They had nice collection of both cold and warm beers. (some standouts included Old Rasputin, Anchor(Beer,Bock,Foghorn,Liberty), Ayinger, Goose Island, Sam Smiths (with gift sets), Arcadia (Scotch Ale), Fuller's, Tennant's, O'Hare's Stout, Yeti Imperial Stout, Stone Brewery, ect...
They also had a decent Belgian selection (Chimays,Ommegang,etc..).

The service was excellent, thanks to Rico. Rico gave us an assortment of glasses for free and even threw in a free 22oz bottle of Southampton double white ale, which was cool since I never got a buy back in a supermarket. He was knowledgable and friendly and told us if you want something and you don't see it in the store, just ask and he will get it for you.

A pleasent suprise. I only whis I knew about this place sooner. Due to the fact that this place is a small neighborhood supermarket, the staff was friendly, and for the size of the store, the selection was impressive, I rate this place an A.

Happy to say this place is alive and kicking in Sept 2007. It could not be more unassuming - a small neighborhood supermarket in north Yonkers, narrow aisles crowded with grandmas searching for bargains...then, like an oasis, it appears, next to the deli counter...two larger open coolers, side by side, stocked with terrific choices from around the world. Ommegang 750s for $6, Stone bombers for $4-7, sampler packs from Magic Hat, Flying Dog, Sam A for $14, Erdinger weiss 12-pack for $11, plus Paulaner, Dupont, Fullers and more. BA reviews clipped to the shelves to guide the novice. Favorite bargain: Lion Stout bombers for $3. Should have bought more. There's a pizza joint and an italian deli in the same block, plus a real estate agent if you're looking to move in for the long term. In the meantime, hey boss, don't we need another meeting with the Yonkers people? I'm ready anytime.

This is a midsized supermarket, about 10 mins from the Saw Mill Pkwy in lower Westchester county. the beer is located straight ahead after entering, behind the cash register area on your left. Mostly in an open cooler, with bombers in a small shelving unit and the casses of macro piled up in the center on the floor. You'll find sixers of North coast, DFH, Bklyn, Shmptn, Stone, Harpoon, Sierra, Sam, Goose Island, also some typical germans and Brit imports. Bombers included, more Stone, Omme, Duvel, Shmptn. Nothing amazing, but these guys are trying and are into getting more good stuff. I spoke to one of the beer guys "Rico" who was very friendly and gave me a nice glass. He said the other two beer guys read BA all the time to learn whats good and they are going to go to the next big BA event in Boston, nice! Anyway, this place is a decent stop if your'e in the area. Oh, it's also a bit on the cheap side, Stone Bombers and Hennepin were $3.99...
