I visited this pub with Fish113d on a Saturday afternoon. The pub is on a main street in Carlisle and the front is rather non-descript and you could miss it. Walking in there is a long rectangular bar with about 15 stools. The stools are nice with soft seats and nice backing. There are also 4-5 tables behind the bar and also several tables in rooms beyond the bar. Seating for about 60 people or so. The decor is beer themed although lots of Steelers garb now too. Pint glasses don the wall on shelves and lots of mirrors, posters and other breweriana. The feel is local neighborhood pub and you reel right at home when you pull up a stool. Justin the bartender is very knowledgeable about beer and seems to enjoy chatting about the house beers with us.
There are 4 house beers on tap. An IPA on cask, a rasp porter, an imp stout, and a red ale. I sampled all of them and they were solid, the IPA on cask was especially nice!
Food is pub grub with an English flair, bangers and mash, sheaperd's pie, and a nice mix of sandwiches stood out. I had an excellent reuben as did Fish and we were both happy with our choices. there is a large selection of bottles available as well with about 160-175 in the cooler, a good range of belgians, and other imports mixed with lots of local flavor. There are also about 12 taps of guest beers mostly local and regional choices.
You can also get a "beer passport" and get dicounts on stuff if you complete the list.
Overall this is a nice little gem in central PA that I would recommend highly to any in the area.
I will go back!
