Wife picked this up for me on a grocery visit. Brewed with garlic? Hmmm.

Poured into my Duvel glass and it produced a yellow, slight peach ale with a mound of foamy white head with tons of lacing. The aroma consists of apricots, grain, light hops and some sweet floral whiffs. The taste is consistent with a tripel but without the dark fruits. It has the fruits it there, but of the lighter variety. Orange, pear, etc. I'm not getting the garlic thing so that shouldn't scare anyone away. A long lingering slightly bitter aftertaste is present. It's light and crisp but doesn't have the "wow" factor for a big, imposing 750 ml bottle. It's rather easy to drink but the taste gets tiresome quickly and it's best to share the bottle with friends and discuss. Definitely not one of the best Tripel's but also not the worst.

Pours cloudy, decent head that disappear s quick.

Aroma of wine gums, corny.

Taste is similar, little to no bitterness. Med body. Below average carb for style. Dryish finish.

It's a bit homebrewy.

Review: 33cl stubby bottle of Jessenhofke's TRPL, a Belgian Tripel: 8% ABV

Once again, the beer is re-fermented in the bottle and all ingredients are organic. The little stubby bottle with TRPL spelled out in big lettering as the logo.

On pour get a decent sized white frothy head of foam, and a deep hazy looking orange coloured beer. Not bad, looks the business.

The smell is all fruity and very nice on the nose.

Lovely big mouthfuls to begin with, very nice on the tongue, sweet and fruity.
Not bad, liking it a lot, very tasty and very nice to sip on.
Smooth, very smooth, didn't feel the 8% alcohol at all, very well hidden

Mild bitterness. Sweet malts, fruity and citrus notes, the hops, all well balanced.
Like it, it did the business. For a tripel I found it was not as hoppy and bitter as expected. Also perhaps not as full of strong flavours and over bearing tastes as I thought but nevertheless a well balanced body, crisp, light and refreshing, that went down very easily and was very savory.

Felt it was quite a perfect beer to watch the football with.

Poured into a tulip, typical hazy tripel body, smashing head.

Aroma is very good a mix of hops, candyfloss and alcohol.

Taste is a bit of a disappointment, really quite smoked with a tobacco tone. Almost a little too hefty. Smokers might like this one more.

Feel is a little dry due to that tobacconistic twist.

Overall, looks good, smells good, taste and feel a little bit of a let down. Not bad, just not inspiring.

Typical Belgian triple, well made, robust and very drinkable. Floral smell, with notes of elderflowers, honey, bread dough. Dry and bitter taste, refreshing.

Appearance: Sounded flat when I popped the cork but I was able to raise an inch of foam on top of the cloudy honey-colored liquid; decent lacing action, however

Smell: Shortbread malt, a hint of candi sugar and a very earthy character that I would attribute to the garlic (as I am not smelling anything I would associate with garlic otherwise)

Taste: Very bready, with a growing shortbread character; by mid-palate, the woodsy, mushroomy flavor adds an unusual dimension (again, I guess, the impact of the garlic); the finish is rather dry

Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with low to moderate carbonation

Overall: I have a hunch that there is some age on this bottle as the "Best Before" date was rubbed off; I wasn't expecting much but I was curious about the garlic and gave it a whirl; not bad at all; wouldn't likely re-visit but I enjoyed it this one time

Smell: citrus, pine, hops, and pomegranates

Taste: pears, honey, powdered sugar, subtle hops and figs with rose

The beer was pretty good, however, the lack of contrasting flavor made this beer so sweet it was to the point of almost pure funked-out yeast. I may have gotten two bad bottles and it may need some age, but this beer is worth trying just to pick up that faint smell of pomegranate and mild taste of fig
