500 ml bottle. Served in a stange, the beer pours a clear straw gold color with about an inch white head that stays around for a long time. There's also a good amount of lacing. Aroma is mostly grainy/bready malt, along with some light herbalness and fruit, mainly grapes. The brew tastes like grainy/bready malt, light grassy/herbal hops, and some grapes. Mouthfeel/body is light, it's crisp, refreshing and easy to drink. It's well carbonated, too. Not a bad beer at all, I'd buy this again at $3.49 a bottle.

Pours a light golden straw with minimal white head.

Grain, lightly floral hops, and fruity notes form the initial aroma. There's a bit of earthy, spicy character.

Flavor reveals light yeast fruitiness, hints of muted lemon and lime, with a backbone of grain, becoming fairly bready and malty, yet slightly dry at the finish. Reminiscent of cereal grain in the peppery, lightly bitter aftertaste. There's a minerally quality that surfaces as it warms.

Body is a touch on the light side, with carbonation a bit high and spritzy.

Minerally overall, with slightly citrusy notes at the base and significant malt presence. Refreshing, yet substantial flavor.

appearance: Vigorous bubbles soon dissipate into a weak head golden color has a hint of orange that gives it a nice character

smell: Rich and dynamic loving it. Some Rhein fruits mixed with the light hops with some nice malted barely on the sides

taste: BAM!!! Wow what a rich flavor. Such a difference from other bland hoppy beers that think hops make up for good flavor. Just a dynamic marrying of sweet and bitter with the fruits on the edges.

mouthfeel: Full for its light color. A joy because it tastes like more than it looks or usually smells. Really a joy to taste

overall: Great Cologne brew, a true bench mark of the marker and the style happy to have

16.9 oz bottle into a pint glass.

A: Pours a pale straw color with excellent clarity. About one finger of a creamy white head is formed with okay retention. Soft waves of lacing are left down the glass.

S: Lots of earthy, mildly sulfur-y German hops make themselves known initially. Some cereal grains and faint touches of fruit esters round out the decent aroma nicely.

T: Now this is more like it. A combination of cereal grains and noble hops open the brew nicely, with both notes bleeding into the crisp, dry finish. What makes this one rock-solid is its prevalent stone fruit esters that help (superbly) balance the adjunct sweetness and mild hops.

M: Like I said, it's crisp and dry with very little lingering sweetness - but plenty of lingering fruit flavors. Carbonation is good without being overbearing, also. While it's quite drinkable, I find the flavor profile too enjoyable to chug it down quick.

O: Truth be told, I really enjoy a good kolsch - and this is definitely a very good, even great, example of an (underappreciated) style. And it's cheap, to boot!
