Big thanks go out to my (non BA, non drinker, just loves me) friend Sue for bringing a growler of this one back from a trip to Kenai for me. Thanks Dew!
Brewing some hefeweizen of my own tonight, so this should pair nicely with my labor.
Pours a very cloudy golden yellow color with a stark white head that lingers for about a minute before turning into a light skim and a ring around the glass and leaves ok lacing, good for the style.
Nose is full of banana clovey esters and big wheat yeast flavor. There is a little bit of a corn like presence im not too sure about, but not overbearing at all. Smells to style.
Hmmm. A good hef. Nothing mind-blowing, but quite solid and to style, and certainly tasty and sessionable. Banana and clove play a big role in the taste, more clove than usual, classic yeasty goodness. The wheat profile is nice, solid.
Mouthfeel is right where it should be, carbonation is slightly low, but likely due to the loose growler cap upon opening, haha.
Drinkability is great. Very easy to drink this growler, and very pleasant.
Overall a good, and accurate to style hefeweizen from Kassik's. For such a young brewery im pretty impressed with most of the stuff Kassik's is putting out. only 4/5 years old and winning medals already, (Caribou Kilt) great to see. If your looking for a good summer slammer, one to drink with friends while getting that last grill of the summer in, run down to Kassik's and grab a growler of this one. Good beer.

A- Appearance is a pale golden, with a great amount of haze. Head is rather thin, disappating into something of a slick.
S- Smell is of the traditional banana and spices. Clove and coriander with some yeastiness.
T- The taste starts with an intense banana flavor and finishes entirely clove-y. The flavors themselves were quite good but the seemed to exist seperately, rather than coexisting. With the finish being so clove heavy, it just seemed a bit off.
M- Low carbonation. Medium body for style. Generally appropriate all around for style.
D- A good hefeweizen that fits in with the "canon" if you will of appropriate parameters for the style. Not my favorite, but a good representation of the style. Light and refreshing beer.
