This was an interesting take on the DIPA. Poured on-tap a very bright, almost orange-gold color. Small head that laced ok. Scent was all hops with floral and citrus aromas prominent. Taste didn't quite live up to the scent. This was pretty much a malt bomb. Prominent hops were on the start of this one, but then the malt backbone took over.
The feel of this one was odd. Almost left a sticky feel in the mouth. Slight alcohol burn with little carbonation.
Overall, not a terrible take on the style, but a cleaner mouthfeel and hop profile would greatly improve this.

Pours a wonderfully deep copper with some decent lacing, but not a lot of head. Very deep and wonderful sweet two-row scent with a nice citrus/floral hop aroma. Huge grapefruit and citrus hop flavors on top of a very nice deep malt base, with a wonderful lasting hop bitterness on the tongue. Goes down incredibly well for a higher abv IPA, with just a hint of hop roughness.

Poured hazy amber color with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate balanced citrus and earthy hop aroma. Medium body with slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium balanced bittersweet flavor with a medium smooth bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Solid drinkable brew.

In the dead of winter, I made the trek (5 minutes total) to the BRBP to get some lunch and a beer. I immediately latched on to this new offering because it was touted as an American double.
Forgive me for the vague-ness of this review because I'm doing it from memory.
Expecting something similar to most Imperial IPA's i've had, I delved into this brew. I was surprised to find that the Hopcicle was actually "Balanced" compared to something like Bell's Hopslam. I was enamored with this beer almost immediately. It was incredibly flavorful and warming, yet drinkable to the nth degree. I ended up return several times to get this one... and if it ever returns, i suggest you do the same!

On tap at the Broad Ripple Brew Pub. 1/26/10. Served in a footed 12 oz'er.
A- Pours a cloudy orange with gold and amber highlights. Small head dissipates quickly. Sticky lacing left.
S- Very, very citrusy. Hops, hops, hops, piney and wonderful. Great penetrating smell.
T- Strong Summit hops right up front. Bitter citrus with a piney earthiness to it. Grassy, as if this DIPA was poured down a hill and kegged.
M- Billowy, mellow, with good carbonation and pretty silky on top of it.
D- I could take these down all day, abv permitting. Very crisp, tasty. A spot of summer on a dark, dreary winter day.

Got this at the brewpub recently. Served in a smaller footed ale style glass this poured a hazy dark golden color, almost like a hefe. Not too much head but a good little bit of lacing. The smell is very floral but not as hoppy as one might expect. The taste is a lot the same: this is a very balanced beer, especially for a double IPA. Massive floral feel to it throughout with good spicing and a nice backbone of summit hops. This was one of my favorite beers at BR.
