Served on tap at ABC in Ann Arbor.
Poured virtually black with a small but durable tan head.
Some chocolate in the nose but very little in the taste where there was a far mor prominent coffee note - this was the reaction of 3-of-3 craft beer drinkers at the table.
Very smooth; full body; well chosen low carbonation.

A nice stout but lacking the chocolate or fudge note that the names suggests.

This beer is a dark brown color, very dark but for a bit of light coming through at the edges. The head looks promising, a brown pillow that starts off a finger tall and looks thicker than it is. It dies down quickly, however, and leaves little foam or lacing to speak of.
Fudge is foremost in the aroma, and this beer does do well in showcasing the distinction between fudge and chocolate. This, while a little thin, is a bit richer and fuller with the more sugary than bittersweet aspect. It's on for the intent with the exception that alcohol is considerably noticeable for the low ABV.
Fudgy in the flavor and showing a bit of sugary and almost lactic sweetness, if anything this beer tells me a milk stout may be a great style to try fudge in. The flavor is good if not, again, a bit thin, and the strong alcohol is more isopropyl than ethanol, which seems odd.
The mouthfeel isn't watery but is light for a stout, and not exactly on par to style. It makes it very thin and takes away from the fudgy aspect a bit. Not bad, but it certainly needs quite a bit more thickness and depth.
Overall this is pretty good but needs polishing up.

Chris's bottle, shared with him. Sourish stout, that the very sweet fudge syrupy taste cannot hide or make up. Rather thin for a stout. Drinkable once. Black coloured body, a little rtained white head. Sugar and American chocolate in aroma. Passable.

A- of this beer is poor. Poured this beer into a stein at room temperature. For a stout it is extremely light in color, watery looking, and looks "hazey."There was no head on the beer at all and it lacked carbonation.

T- was pretty good. The Chocolate and Fudge taste were huge in this beer and you pretty much have to search for the other characteristics which are a Light bitter coffee and burnt malt taste.

S- light chocolate and roasted malt smell

M- Creamy with no carbonation at all. Since it is watered down, the mouthfeel is very poor.

I love chocolate stouts and drink them quite a bit. This one lacks the basic characteristics of what a stout should look like in appearance. Didn't care for it whatsoever.

12 oz bottle into tulip. From notes.

A: pours a typical, deep black body. Head that is tan, retreats into a in foamy layer.

S: Aroma is smooth and full of fudge elements. Good aroma and well achieved goal.

T: Taste is light chocolate, not getting the overall fudge aspect as in the aroma.
M: The mouthfeel is way too thin for a stout, very lacking aspect of the beer.

O: overall a decent beer, but the thin body really took away from the overall experience.

12oz bottle
Served in a nonic pint glass

A - Dark brown with amber highlights. Just a skim of brown head.

S - Very roasted almost burnt aroma. Subtle hints of chocolate.

T - It has a burnt flavor as well, like burnt popcorn. Not getting a fudge taste.

M - Moderate with little carbonation

O - Not as good as Mackinac fudge. It tastes burnt. I just can't get past that.
