A: clouded pale yellow with a light radiating glow to it. No head and a few speckles of lacing. Not an impressive start
S: fairly clean, grainy, and pilsner-like in the nose. Some noble and grassy hops are prominent
T: the flavor is bitter and crisp. It really does hit the mark for an Imperial Pilsner (my first sampling of this style). It has all the dimensions of a pilsner while being on steroids. Hops are definitely on the stronger side for the style. Sip after sip unlocks a dry grainy, almost corn-flake flavor. All in all it's a reasonable beer
M: finishes crisp and dry. Has some quenching characters but lacks in overall feel. Body is light and swiftly carbonated
D: I pass on this one

Had from tap at the Corner Brewery in Ypsilanti. Pours a clear gold color with a nice head.
Crisp and fresh with very nice aromas of crackers, grains, some citrus and noble hops. Good depth as well.
Medium bodied with a nice smooth feel. There is good weight as well with nice flavors of crackers, citrus and some noble hops.
This is a real good imperial pilsner. Holds the bigger style fairly well and doesn't come off as boozy.

Appearance: yellow straw like color. pretty good clarity. small off white head that leaves a bit of a lacing
Smell: hops and pilsner malts. not very strong at all
Taste: pilsner maltiness that is quickly taken over by hops. strong and good hops. alcohol is overly strong
Mouthfeel: fairly clean at first but alcohol begins to bite later on
Overall: starts off good but the alcohol takes over and makes it a bit tough to drink. i don't recall the alcohol being so strong so i may have to edit

Serving: On tap, 4oz sampler at Corner Brewery (ABC's Ypsilanti brewpub)
Appearance: Looks like a pils- nice and light yellow, crystal clear, and very simple. A nice white head on the top. Definitely looks simple and welcoming, looks like easy drinking.
Smell: You can definitely tell there are added hops in this one (hence the "imperial", as it were), but you can also pick out the biscuity notes from the malt, another characteristic of the pilsener style. I like how these two major flavor profiles are playing off each other in the nose.
Taste: Kind of like the nose, you can definitely tell this is a pilsener. There is that bready, biscuity, light malt taste in there, but then you really get a nice dose of the hop bitterness on the back end. Really a great pilsener- one that feels light, but tastes very full bodied and complicated. However, the hops don't dominate the overall profile of the beer, and everything seems to work really well in tandem with each other.
Mouthfeel: Feels like a pils- nice and light on the tongue, and very spritzy. Invites sip after sip.
Overall: A fantastic offering from ABC, and certainly one I would get again. I'm a big fan of lagers, and this one definitely gives credit to the overall style. A great beer for a summer day, but also one that will maintain its complexity through a pint (or two) rather than bore you before you move onto the next one. I would recommend this.
