look: 3.75 | smell: 4 | taste: 4 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 4

Appearance: brown with a hint of orange in it. slightly hazy but mostly clear. no head to speak of but some bubbly spots

Smell: citrus, tart fruit. wood. funk.

Taste: opens up with a nice dose of citrus that quickly becomes tart fruit. gives way to a woody earthy taste. finishes earthy with a good kick of funk

Mouthfeel: sticky and tart.

Overall: Arbor Brewing makes some decent sours. nothing to blow you away but definitely a good place to start if you are in the area. Another solid beer by arbor.

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle.

The beer pours an orange color with a white head. The aroma has a lot of sour apple and cherry notes, as well as some biscuit and funk qualities. The flavor is similar. I get some very nice sour fruit (apples, cherries, grapes), as well as some light funk, light leather and a high level of tartness. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Very refreshing and easy to drink.

Yellow-orange coloured body with some head. Just delightful summer day beer, with some oak, spice, almost cherry tartness.Lemon, pear, tad of apple. Full mouthfeel. Suitably carbonated, a little aging helped. Thanks WomanCan'tSail. Very good drinkability.
Had a second bottle of Stephen Rich, and t was straight out big sour not as drinkable. Using the former bottle as the review.

A big thanks to Erik (erikkoppin) for this great beer. Cheers friend!

Appearance – Pours into a tulip with a tawny orange color. About a half finger of head is achieved with a moderate pour that dissipates quickly leaving little head.

Smell – Heavy green grannysmith apple, wet hay, barnyard funk, slight oaky aromas.

Taste – Another beer that tastes quite similar to the aroma. A nice puckering green apple flavor up front which then lends itself to some acidic characteristics. The barnyard funk is definitely prevalent and lends itself to some earthiness. Somewhat one sided.

Mouthfeel – Lighter bodied, decent carbonation, a crisp finish.

Overall – A pretty good sour. I brought this up to Michigan while I am on vacation and coincidentally I found another bottle of this in a local Traverse City beer store. Needless to say I picked up another to sit on for a couple years. Very curious to see how this ages.

Poured from 750 into a tulip. Pours a medium gold color with a foamy head.

Very good depth and complex aromas of funk, sour cherries, sour citrus notes, and some tart green apples.

Really good medium body feel with good depth and notes of green apples, sour cherries and sour citrus'

This was a great beer. Got this from a friend and am very glad I got it. Really good depth across the board with a real nice tartness to it.

Ditmier pulled this newbie out at a badass tasting in SLC.. Very cool Eric... this one was on nobody's radar!!

Pours with a lite tannish head.. good lacing and retention.. the brew is pretty hazed lite orange.

Only lightly funky.. descent lemon reminiscent of traditional sours and even some tangerine zest.. Sammy says some Oak is there, but I am having a hard time.

Pretty descent sour backbone that is less than many American sours, but still nice.. the funk is mild and dusty, but definitely present.. sorta heavy fruity... apricot sweetness and something that I describe as grape skin.. good lingering tartness.. with late pours, I get some nice oak.. but it seemed really tame when warmer.

Body is a tad more than I like... I think it lended too much toward the sweetness to really make the bugs come out.. still a pretty descent carbonation... I would buy this or even trade for it just to forget about it for a couple years.

Thanks again Eric.. I appreciate you hanging on to this one.

Cheers to Goblinmunkey7 for sharing this

Appearance: Medium amber / dark caramel, aggressive pour yields a small, eggshell white head, fades to a borderline nonexistent head, leaves some streaks of lacing

Smell: Sour and funky - lots of wood, acidic and lactic sourness - some big tartness and vinegar - funky and musty - some barnyard weirdness - some pale grains in the back, hay, and light fruits

Taste: Sour and interesting - lactic and acidic sourness, borderline mouth puckering - very tart - some barnyard and musty basement funk - a very strong vinegar component - lots of oak - some apple and pear, with a ton of lemon - pale and caramel malts at its base - very wet overall

Mouthfeel: On the heavy side of medium, especially for a sour, nice carbonation, wet finish

Overall: Obidos?

This is a nice sour. There's a lot going on here. Not the most refined, a little too wet for my taste, but worth a try.

Poured from the bottle into a tasting snifter.

Appearance: Pours a slightly cloudy golden amber color with a small amount of white carbonation that doesn't stick around very long.

Smell: Tart and funky. I'm getting some vinegar and a strong lemon juice note. There is a mild sweetness as well.

Taste: Tart but there is enough sweetness to control the sour. Lemon and just enough funk. Good sourness level. Overall I would call this beer light.

Mouthfeel: The body is medium with lots of carbonation and a finish that is quite dry.

Overall: I liked the lemon juice notes and thought this was a good light sour. I'd have more.

Bottle shared by Steve, 750ml corked and caged into a tulip. 2012 vintage.

Red in colour with a white ring of head. Light retention. Nose has a weird apricot/peach/dill funk, sweet malty character and light acetic acidity. Upfront acetic tartness on the palate, less fruit character although the qualities are still present. Minimal sweetness to balance, tart well into the finish. Medium feel, medium high carbonation. An interesting beer, something I dwelled on for quite some time.
