Appearance: brownish orange color. murky and completely opaque. small off white head that fades quickly and leaves nothing behind.

Smell: fruit. berries, green apple. wooden character. vinegar. just a little bit of sourness. comes off too vinegary for me

Taste: opens up with a slightly sour mix of raspberries and green apple skins. very slight barrel character and earthy character. lots of acid vinegar at the end. Not as nearly as sour as other beers i have had but a nice mellow sour.

Mouthfeel: fairly light. light puckering tartness. pretty sticky

Overall: this is one of the better super fruity beers i have had. but as far as a sour wild ale goes its falls a bit short. could use more funk to it or mouthpuckering sour. falls on the lower end of the arbor brewing sours but is still a good beer.

750ml split and poured into a snifter. Vintage 2012.

A: Pours an opaque bright orangish ruby with minimal white head. Some small chunks of dark fruit floating around. A spot or two of lacing.

S: Load of fruit upfront, raspberry and strawberry dominate. Very much like a raspberry puree. A touch of tart funkiness in the background as well as oak.

T: As anticipated this is one tart brew. Like the aroma, raspberry and strawberry are the focus of this beer. Reminiscent of a gueze. Oak does make it through but is fairly faint in the background.

M: Puckering tartness, medium carbonation and body. A bit of stickiness after swallowing but still feels fairly clean.

Overall one of the fruiter wild ales I have tried. It has some great tartness that will really pucker you up. A must try for any fan of raspberries or strawberries.

extra from andrew, thanks. raspberry is substantial in the aroma. Slightly red body, with an average head. Raspberry is the dominant taste, somewhat sour like vinegar, but brett smoothes it out. Very Decent drinkability. I wonder how this one would age.

Pours dull maroon with a small white head that recedes by the time I sit down.

Funky aroma with fresh fruit jam smells.

Lots of fruity jam in the flavor too. I get more of the strawberry than raspberry, but both are present. More funky than sour, although there is a bit of tartness. Brett melds well with the berries and a little oak is present too.

Light to medium bodied with smooth carbonation.

Solid beer and pretty good sour. Nothing earth shattering, but a nice blend of fruit and brett.

Thanks to alelover for this beaut - 2012 vintage:

Nice pulpy dark orange body with a minimal amount of head retention... fizzing away within a minute. Sorta looks like a glass of apple cider.

Fresh acidity - pear and apple skins. Some lemonade type aromas. Not nearly as sweet as I'd expected.

Nice and tart - dry and citric. The sour aspect of this beer is about as focused as a gueuze... super funky, super refreshing.

1 PINT 9.4 FL. OZ. bottle
Served in a teku glass
2012

A - It is a rosy orange color. It is crystal clear and topped with less than an inch of tan head.

S - The smell is tart, ripe strawberries. I can pick out the raspberries as well.

T - My first taste was tart with the strawberries and raspberries coming though. It had a soapy finish. After about a third of a glass I find the sourness coating my palate. The flavor is more like sour cherries at this point. It is puckeringly sour.

M - Moderate and slick. It is wine-like.

O - I have never been overly impressed with Arbor Brewing. I had heard that the sours were good. That is why I purchased this beer a couple years ago. I am very happy with my investment. The price was around $16. It is worth it every once in a while. There are not too many sours to choose from in my area, so it is nice to have a good option within a couple hours.

Reviewed from notes dictated into voice notes on my iphone.
This was shared at a recent tasting... by oreo? funkyaudio? Can't remember.

this is a murky muddy rusty color with a wispy cloud of bubbles and some small hanging lace chunks remain after a swirl, but almost immediately disappear back into the body. The legs are practically non-existent. I'll be honest-- this beer isn't really a looker. Doesn't look terrible-- but this is the definition of average.

The nose holds cherries and raspberries. Some light sweetness from an underlying base beer.

The beer is very thin and undercarbonated. The thin feel and mild aroma really translates to a taste experience that is really pretty bland. The little bit of sourness is not enough to save this one from being not very complex or interesting.

Is this terrible? No. Would I want to get myself a bottle? No.

The biggest fault is a little acetone bite on the finish. Overall, not one I'd seek out, but it's nice to see more smaller breweries getting into sours. It gives me hope that a couple years from now will give us many delicious options.

Thanks to Derek for the bottle and Richard for sharing.

Pours a bright reddish-pink with a short lived white head. Smells of the raspberries that were added to it. Definitely a bit of vinegar and maybe some other light fruit notes. A touch sweet, too. The flavor is sort of a mix between soda and sour beer. Highly carbonated with good raspberries and a sharp acetic sourness. A little bit of strawberry in there too, maybe some grass.

Thanks to Kzoobrew for this one

App- In the middle of some darker tones mixed with the color of the berries. Had a quick to form maybe 1/2 in to 1 in head and went away as quick. A small bit of cling and lace.

Smell- Had a lot of pop but when put up against some things at CF7 was just a bit short. A nice blend of oak and ripe fruits and just a touch of some funk and yeast. A really nice smelling beer.

Taste- Well this is where this beer shined. The balance struck from the base strawberry beer and the oak and the addition of the tart raspberries made this a really nice beer.

Mouth- Right on the cusp for me, but I'm going with a medium body and a medium carbonation.

Drink- Kevin, this beer was awesome. I am grading it kinda hard but it had some stiff competition at CF7. I do have to saw this was the hit of the party on a rarity level and was very well recieved. I would love another bottle of this to have every once and a while.
