This one delivers a strong flavor profile with an intriguing mix of juicyfruit and raw graininess. The aroma at first suggests chocolate malt. It turns out the defining ingredient is roast barley. The smell also harbors strawberry and succulent exotics such as passion fruit with a touch of toasted almond. The color is sensuous topaz with high clarity.

Unique and highly repeatable.

Poured into straight pint glass. Poured a typical dark red/amber color with just a thin ring of light khaki head that had low retention and light lacing.

The aroma was fairly typical as well, lots of sweet caramel malts and just a hint of light hops. The taste was about as expected as well, the sweet malts up front and a bit of a hop tang at the back.

The body was average, the usual medium, and had a slightly sticky finish. Overall, a solid brew, not really one to seek out, but you'll enjoy if you're in the mood for the style.
