definitely better than its ratings, this is the first beer i have had from these guys. its almost a double ipa in its alcohol content and its showing of it. my bottle says 7.6% abv, rather than the 8% abv listed here. a little warm in the nose and a little sting in the finish to go with the west coast style hopping, honey oily hop character, and fizzy carbonation, a real interesting combination all up. i really dig the hop nose and flavor of this, its intense, almost spicy, wild hops almost, not quite peppery, but more zesty than grassy european hops, and absolutely more oily. sessionability is limited by alcohol content only, as the flavor is almost delicate for how big this is, and the mouthfeel is pretty easy down with its apparent lightness due to high carbonation. light fruity notes to finish and no decipherable yeast contribution to flavor. nice beer overall, a good introduction to this brewery, which looks like it does some pretty neat beers. thanks to a new buddy for sharing this one from his travels.
