Served on-tap in a 12 oz cylindrical glass. Appears a dark brown, not quite black, with a thin brown head. The head may have been better than what I actually got, because there was definitely some stickiness and liquid on the outside/bottom of the glass.
Nose was big on the bourbon, with fairly sweet malty backgrounds. Not a whole lot of chocolate here, but overall the aroma was pleasant. The taste was sweet up front with the chocolate malts coming through a bit more, and the finish was very big on the bourbon. Felt almost like I was drinking watered down whiskey. Was hoping for a bit more complexity here.
Mouthfeel was very lightweight with little carbonation. This was a lot thinner than most stouts, and was disappointing. Overall, this was an enjoyable brew, but nothing that blew me away.
