Reids is typical of most other stores of this type. They carry all kinds of gourmet coffee, tea, wine, produce, cereals and meats along with a wide selection of organic products. The craft beer selection is not as good as other places in town, but it is fairly decent and the craft beers outnumber macros by more than 2 to 1. I couldn't help but notice that the macro cooler was very small. I saw a few Belgians including Trappists such as Achel and Chimay. There was also a varied number of beers from Germany, the U.K. and Eastern Europe. American micros were also well represented with a mix of offerings from the East Coast as well as the West Coast. Service was non-existent, but this is a grocery store and you pretty much help yourself. Prices were similar to most other beer stores I've been to. You'll likely find a much larger choice of brews in other stores around Charlotte, but not in the center city area. If you happen to be downtown, this is probably the best place to purchase quality beer.

I live down the street of this place. The whole store is nice and quality for a small supermarket. Their beer section is dwarfed by their wine portion but they work with the space they have. Marc, the head of the beer section, is extremely helpful and passionate about the beer carried. They have your usual, but Marc tries hard to keep a competative stock of good quality beers. You'll find multiple selections of bells, founders, terrapin, north coast, lagunitas, weyerbacher, victory and various belgiums. Marc is always updating the stock and tries to change things up frequently. The prices there are very good too. I definitely recommend grabing a few brews from this place if your in uptown. I go there bout once a week for general groceries and always check to see what they have new in the beer aisle.

Located right off the last light rail train stop in Uptown Charlotte, Reids offers a decent beer selection as well as great munchies. A must stop when heading from that saide of town if you're going to Bobcats Arena or Uptown for a festival or gathering. Also, they have regular events such as tastings with local beer clubs and distributors/breweries. In a very popular area across the street from Dixie's and around the corner from Brixx. I recommend this place if you need some good beer to go Uptown.

Bias alert! Reid's employee here, just posting to let beer lovers know that we have recently upgraded our selection quite a bit and have over 200 domestic microbrew and imports on hand including many bombers and other singles. Prices very competitive with general Charlotte area. Not going to comment more pro or con as this would be inappropriate, please stop by and then post your own BeerAdvocate review, we need and appreciate more recent (and candid) reviews of the establishment from our target audience. Thank you in advance.

I stopped in here with my Dad before the Eric Clapton concert a few months back. As others have probably done before me I stopped in to grab a couple so I didnt have to spend all my money on some crappy macros inside. Pretty decent store, well compared to SC at the time. I did not really find everyone that terribly friendly but then again I was not really looking for toom much help. They seemed to have a pretty good handle on the locals as well as a good amount of common belgians and bigger micros. Prices were a little much but still better then insode the area. Overall a decent place and if you need a bottle before the show probably a must stop./

Okay, this is the best reason to go to Reid's. Your planning to go into Bobcats arena for a game or concert. Do you really want to spend $7 for a Bud Light? Instead, before the game, go to Reid's, grab a Duvel or Chimay at the fridge area for less than $5, and have the server pour it in Belgian glassware for you. Enjoy and repeat, if necessary.

Cheaper than any bar close by, but a bit more expensive than most beer stores. Can't split sixers, but there's a good number of choices. Best bet is if you want a quality beer to drink on premises.
