On tap at the Rose and Raindrop in Portland. My glass of DB was a vibrant ruby-hued copper color with a frothy, sticky head, like whipped egg white. The head left behind a fine lacing that coats the inside of the glass. The aroma was a wallop of floral hops, and sweetish smoky malts...wowsers! The taste matched the aromas well: Huge roasty sweet malts, rounded out with an equivelently powerful bitterness. This is the classic Stone roastiness I am tasting. This is a huge, in your face, MoFo of a beer... a big beer for big beer lovers...like me! The mouthfeel was large, full, smooth, and completely satisfying. This one is so big, so fantastically monstrous, its drinkability suffers somewhat, as one would expect. Bottom line..its Big, Bold, and Beautiful. Thank you Stone for making this beast.
