Awesome beer that bravely melds smoked malt with a brett infested Saison.

I'm starting to grow on Saisons. This would he great for a family gathering or holiday dinner. I could drink this anytime of the year. Rich smell and beautiful color.

Initially pours a gorgeous orange with an attractive white head, though don't turn away as the head fades quickly. The nose is a carnival of honey, oranges, apricot syrup. The palate is luxurious and warming fading to the ever lightest sour note. Off the beaten path. A nice brew.

Bomber poured into a Red Racer pint glass. An unassuming orange-yellow amber hue with a light dollop of sudsy white bubbles. Nose is the expected phenolic Belgian spice, subtle smoke, an apple and pear fruitiness, perhaps some slightly fetid prune juice, orange rind, sugar cookie dough. Seems innocent enough. The taste is something else, however, super smoky yet simultaneously sweet and spicy. Overripe orange on the front end, followed by tart pie cherry, peat-like earthy smoke with hints of bacon, more apple/pear, medicinal phenols. Pleasingly thick bodied with low grade carbonation. Curiously sweet finish that comes off like a pile of warm pears with a dash of compost heap. There is a classic saison dry peppery spice struggling to keep up. Absolutely unique recipe, wonderful story on the bottle, and just warm fuzzies all around.

A- hazy deep gold color, small ring of head. No lacing.

S- peaty pale malt. Warm cherries. Almost a cherry pie smell with a bit of Belgian funk.

T- smooth, smokey, sweet, smooth sweet cherry pale flavors with a smokiness lingering and showing up on the back end. A bit of a floral hop in the background.

M- heavy, smooth, satisfying.

O- every part of this beer is prestigious. Lots of variables all working perfectly to make this a truely pleasurable experience. The best saison I have ever had.
