Last year's w00tstout collaborators are back for round two! Thespian and renaissance man Wil Wheaton, online news guru Drew Curtis and their new cohort, multi-talented actress and comedian Aisha Tyler collaborated on Stone w00tstout 2.0, a massive yet seductive imperial stout brewed with wheat, rye, pecans and stone-ground chocolate (a new addition to this year's recipe), then partially aged in Kentucky bourbon barrels.

22oz bottle poured into a snifter
Pours black in color with a one-finger foamy khaki head that reduces to a ring. Smells of chocolate malts, dark chocolate and oaky bourbon. Tastes of dark chocolate and caramel up front, followed by some bourbon, caramel and nuttiness. Medium body with moderate carbonation, creamy mouthfeel and finish. This version is more barrel-forward than the original

thin. and old. easy and smooth. tastes like a stout from 'those days' and yes, i believe there is an evolution to beer... not getting the advertised flavors but this isnt the typical Stone touch, even six years later. all chocolate at this point, although not sweet, consuming or dominating. the choclate just 'carries' it, ya know? not bad, and it held up well! not the typical 'mustiness' i've experienced from som eof the other forgotten brews in my underground cellar......

One of my favorite beers and am so happy when it becomes available here in the Daytona Beach area. I love this style and this is exceptional. High ABV is blended in nicely so I don’t get a huge alcohol taste. Try it, you will like it.

There is a hint of nuttiness from the pecans but otherwise this is a pretty standard imperial stout. Chocolate, roastiness, and a hint of vanilla and bourbon. The 13.5% alcohol is well-hidden.

Very boozy on the nose. Get brown sugar and cinnamon on the nose. Raisins on the backend taste. Very balanced hops and malts. Definitely boozy on the taste.

L: Jet black color, half finger brown head, superb lacing, good carbonation.
S: Chocolate, coffee, raisins, alcohol.
T: Raisins, wine, alcohol, chocolate, coffee. Bitter on the back end. Strong!
F: Full bodied but quite hard to drink due to high ABV.
O: Taste is good, no doubt, but damn this is heavy.

I usually don’t like bourbon flavored boors but this one is great. The bourbon flavor is obvious but not overwhelming. The flavors are truthful and crisp.
